replace it as soon as possible with a road tire/wheel that is the same size
and type as the road tires and wheels that were originally provided by
Mazda. If the dissimilar spare tire or wheel is damaged, it should be
replaced rather than repaired.
A dissimilar spare tire/wheel is defined as a spare tire and/or wheel that
is different in brand, size or appearance from the road tires and wheels
and can be one of three types:1. T-type mini-spare: This spare tire begins with the letter ªTº for tire
size and may have ªTemporary Use Onlyº molded in the sidewall
2. Full-size dissimilar spare with label on wheel: This spare tire
has a label on the wheel that states: ªTHIS TIRE AND WHEEL FOR
TEMPORARY USE ONLYº
When driving with one of the dissimilar spare tires listed above, do not:
² Exceed 50 mph (80 km/h)
² Load the vehicle beyond maximum vehicle load rating listed on the
Safety Compliance Label
² Tow a trailer
² Use snow chains on the end of the vehicle with the dissimilar spare
tire
² Use more than one dissimilar spare tire at a time
² Use commercial car washing equipment
² Try to repair the dissimilar spare tire
Use of one of the dissimilar spare tires listed above at any one wheel
location can lead to impairment of the following:
² Handling, stability and braking performance
² Comfort and noise
² Ground clearance and parking at curbs
² Winter weather driving capability
² Wet weather driving capability
For vehicles equipped with 4WD, it is not recommended that the vehicle
be operated in 4WD modes with a temporary emergency spare tire. If
4WD operation is necessary, do not operate above speeds of 10 mph (16
km/h) or for distances above 50 miles (80 km). 3. Full-size dissimilar spare without label on wheel

3. Connect the negative (-) cable to the negative (-) terminal of theassisting battery.
4. Make the final connection of the negative (-) cable to an exposed metal part of the stalled vehicle's engine, away from the battery and
the fuel injection system. Do notuse fuel lines, engine rocker covers
or the intake manifold as groundingpoints.
WARNING: Do not connect the end of the second cable to the
negative (-) terminal of the battery to be jumped. A spark may
cause an explosion of the gases that surround the battery.
5. Ensure that the cables are clear of fan blades, belts, moving parts of both engines, or any fuel delivery system parts.
Jump starting 1. Start the engine of the booster vehicle and run the engine at moderately increased speed.
2. Start the engine of the disabled vehicle.

3. After at least three to five tank fill-ups, fill the fuel tank and recordthe current odometer reading.
4. Subtract your initial odometer reading from the current odometer reading.
5. Follow one of the simple calculations in order to determine fuel economy:
Calculation 1: Divide total miles traveled by total gallons used.
Calculation 2: Multiply liters used by 100, then divide by total
kilometers traveled.
Keep a record for at least one month and record the type of driving (city
or highway). This will provide an accurate estimate of the vehicle's fuel
economy under current driving conditions. Additionally, keeping records
during summer and winter will show how temperature impacts fuel
economy. In general, lower temperatures give lower fuel economy.
Driving style Ð good driving and fuel economy habits
Give consideration to the lists that follow and you may be able to change
a number of variables and improve your fuel economy.
Habits
² Smooth, moderate operation can yield up to 10% savings in fuel.
² Steady speeds without stopping will usually give the best fuel
economy.
² Idling for long periods of time (greater than one minute) may waste
fuel.
² Anticipate stopping; slowing down may eliminate the need to stop.
² Sudden or hard accelerations may reduce fuel economy.
² Slow down gradually.
² Driving at reasonable speeds (traveling at 55 mph [88 km/h] uses 15%
less fuel than traveling at 65 mph [105 km/h]).
² Revving the engine before turning it off may reduce fuel economy.
² Using the air conditioner or defroster may reduce fuel economy.
² You may want to turn off the speed control in hilly terrain if
unnecessary shifting between fourth and fifth gear occurs.
Unnecessary shifting of this type could result in reduced fuel
economy.
² Warming up a vehicle on cold mornings is not required and may
reduce fuel economy.
