G110D01TB-GAT To Check the Transaxle Fluid Level Park the car on level ground with the parking brake engaged. When the transaxle fluid level is checked, thetransaxle fluid should be at normal operating temperature and the engine idling.
3. If the transaxle fluid level is low, usea funnel to add transaxle fluid throughthe dipstick tube until the levelreaches the "HOT" range. Do not overfill. C090A03FC
Fluid level should be within "HOT" range
HTB164 1. Open the hood, being careful to keep
hands, long hair and clothing clear of any moving parts.
2. Remove the transaxle dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert the dipstick as faras it will go, then remove it again.Now check the fluid level on the dipstick. It should be in the "HOT" range on the dipstick.
While the engine is idling, apply thebrakes and move the gear selectorlever from "P" to each of its other positions -- "R", "N", "D", "2", "L" -- and then return to "N" or "P". With theengine still idling:
G110C01TB-GAT Transaxle Fluid Capacity The fluid capacity of the automatic transaxle is 6.1 liters.
WARNING:
The transaxle fluid level should bechecked when the engine is at nor-mal operating temperature. This means that the engine, radiator, exhaust system etc., are very hot.Exercise great care not to burn your- self during this procedure.

G140A01A-AAT AIR CONDITIONING CARE Keeping the Condenser Clean The air conditioning condenser (and engine radiator) should be checked periodically for accumulation of dirt,dead insects, leaves, etc. These can interfere with maximum cooling effi- ciency. When removing such accumu-lations, brush or hose them away care- fully to avoid bending the cooling fans. G140B01A-AAT Checking the Air Conditioning Operation
1. Start the engine and let it run at a
fast idle for several minutes with the air conditioning set at the maximum cold setting.
2. If the air coming out of the in-dash vents is not cold, have the air condi-tioning system inspected by yourHyundai dealer.
! CAUTION:
Running the air conditioning sys- tem for extended periods of timewith a low refrigerant level may damage the compressor.
G120E02TB-AAT Adding Brake Fluid
WARNING:
Handle brake fluid carefully. It can damage your vision if it gets intoyour eyes. Use only DOT 3 or DOT 4 specification fluid from a sealed container. Do not allow the fluidcan or reservoir to remain open any longer than required. This will pre- vent entry of dirt and moisture whichcan damage the brake system and cause improper operation.

To add brake fluid;
1) If it is necessary, remove the air cleaner cover.
2) Wipe away any dirt then unscrew the fluid reservoir cap.
3) Slowly pour the recommended fluid
into the reservoir using by a funnel. Do not overfill. Before using, check the condition of the funnel to prevent a mixture of a foreign substance.
4) Carefully replace the cap on the res- ervoir and tighten.
G120D02A-AAT To Check the Fluid Level

The fluid level in the brake fluid reser- voir should be checked periodically. The level should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the side of thereservoir. If the level is at or below the "MIN" mark, carefully add fluid to bring it up to "MAX". Do not overfill. NOTE: If the level is below the "MIN" mark, it should be changed by an autho-rized Hyundai dealer.

If the red indicator illuminates, pull over and stop as soon as possible and turn off the engine. Then open the bonnetand check the coolant level (See "If the engine overheats" on the page 3-4.) and the water pump drive belt. If you sus-pect cooling system trouble, have your cooling system checked by a Hyundai dealer as soon as possible. NOTE: If the red engine temperature indica- tor illuminates, it indicates overheat-ing that may damage the engine.

FUEL FILTER WARNING LIGHT-RED(Diesel Engine)
This light illuminates when the engine has started and go off after a approimately seconds. If it lights upwhile the engine is running, it indicates that water has accumulated inside the fuel filter. WARNING:
Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. The engine coolantis under pressure and could erupt and cause severe burns. Wait until the engine is cool before removingthe radiator cap.

These indicators show the temperature of the engine coolant when the ignition switch is ON. Red indicator illuminatesif the temperature of the engine coolant is above 120±3°C (248±37.4°F). Blue indicator Illuminates if the tem-perature of the engine coolant is below 60±3°C (140±37.4°F).

NOTE: If the fuel-filler flap will not open because ice has formed around it, tap lightly or push on the lid to breakthe ice and release the lid. Do not lever the flap. If necessary, spray around the flap with an approved de-icer fluid (do not use radiator anti- freeze) or move the vehicle to a warm place and allow the ice to melt.

D040A01TB-EAT TEMPORARY SPARE TYRE (Not all models) The following instructions for the tem- porary spare tyre should be observed:
1. Check inflation pressure as soon as
practical after installing the spare tyre, and adjust to the specifiedpressure. The tyre pressure should be periodically checked and main- tained at the specified pressurewhile the tyre is stored.
6. If the cause of the overheating can- not be found, wait until the enginetemperature has returned to normal. Then, if coolant has been lost, care- fully remove the radiator cap and addwater to bring the fluid level in the reservoir up to the base of the radia- tor fill opening. Fill the coolant ex-pansion tank to the halfway mark. To ensure the correct water to cool- ant mix is obtained after top up,testing by an authorised repairer is required. WARNING:
Do not remove the radiator cap whenthe engine is hot since steam and boiling water may be ejected fromthe radiator resulting in burns or scalding.

5. If the water pump drive belt is broken
or coolant is leaking out, stop theengine immediately and call the near-est Hyundai authorised repairer for assistance.
! CAUTION:
Serious loss of coolant indicates there is a leak in the cooling system and this should be checked as soonas possible by a Hyundai authorised repairer.
7. Proceed with caution until it is estab-
lished that the engine is operating normally. If the engine overheatsrepeatedly, the advice of a Hyundai authorised repairer should be sought.
