CAUTION:
When installing a container of liquid air freshener inside the vehicle, do not place it near the instrument cluster nor on the instrument panel surface. If there is any leakage from the air freshener onto these areas (Instrument cluster, instrument panel or air ventilator), it may damage these parts. If the liquid from the air freshener does leak onto these areas, wash themwith water immediately.!

The purpose of the SRS is to provide the vehicle's driver or the front passen-ger with additional protection than that offered by the seat belt system alone, in case of a frontal impact of sufficientseverity. NOTE: Be sure to read information about the SRS on the labels provided onthe front side of the sun visor and in the glove box.
WARNING:
o As its name implies, the SRS is designed to work with, and besupplemental to, the driver's and the passenger's three point seatbelt systems and is not a substi- tute for them. Therefore your seat belts must be worn at all timeswhilst the vehicle is in motion. The airbags deploy only in certain frontal impact conditions severeenough to likely cause significant injury to the vehicle occupants.o The SRS is designed to deploy theairbags only when an impact is sufficiently severe and when the impact angle is less than 30° from the forward longitudinal axis ofthe vehicle and will not deploy in side, rear or rollover impacts. Additionally, the airbags will onlydeploy once. Thus, seat belts must be worn at all times.
o Front airbags are not intended to deploy in side-impact, rear-impactor rollover crashes. In addition, airbags will not normally deployin frontal crashes below the de- ployment threshold speed. Rear impact

The SRS service reminder indicator (SRI) on the instrument panel will illumi-nate for approximately 6 seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position or after the engine is started, after which the SRI should go out. The airbag modules are located both in the centre of the steering wheel and in the front passenger's panel above the glove box. When the SRSCM detects aconsiderable impact to the front of the vehicle, it will automatically deploy the airbags. B240B02L-RB240B03GK-EAT SRS Components and Functions The SRS consists of the following com- ponents: - Driver's Side Airbag Module - Passenger's Side Airbag Module - SRS Service Reminder Indicator (SRI)- SRS Control Module (SRSCM) The SRSCM continually monitors all elements while the ignition is "ON" to determine if a frontal or near-frontal impact is severe enough to requireairbag deployment.B240B01L-R
o For maximum safety protection in
all types of crashes, all occupants including the driver should always wear their seat belts whether or not an airbag is also provided attheir seating position to minimise the risk of severe injury or death in the event of a crash. Do not sit orlean unnecessarily close to the airbag whilst the vehicle is in motion.
o The SRS airbag system must de- ploy very rapidly to provide pro-tection in a crash. If an occupant isout of position because of not wearing a seat belt, the airbag may forcefully contact the occupantcausing serious or fatal injuries.

o Use of seat covers could reduce or
prevent the effectiveness of the system.
o Do not install any accessories on
the side or near the side impactairbag.
o Do not use excessive force on the
side of the seat.
o Do not place any objects over the
airbag or between the airbag and yourself.
o Do not place any objects (an um-
brella, bag, etc.) between the frontdoor and the front seat. Such ob- jects may become dangerous pro- jectiles and cause injury if thesupplemental side impact airbag inflates.
o To prevent unexpected deploy- ment of the side impact air bagthat may result in personal injury, avoid impact to the side impactairbag sensor when the ignition key is on.!
Important Safety Notes on the Side Impact Airbag system This page and the following page detail a number of safety points concerningthis system which should always be observed to ensure risk of injury is reduced in an accident. WARNING:
o The side impact airbag is supple- mental to the driver's and thepassenger's seat belt systems andis not a substitute for them. There- fore your seat belts must be worn at all times whilst the vehicle is inmotion. The airbags deploy only in certain side impact conditions severe enough to cause signifi-cant injury to the vehicle occu- pants.
o For best protection from the side impact airbag system and to avoidbeing injured by the deploying side impact airbag, both front seatoccupants should sit in an upright position with the seat belt prop- erly fastened. The driver's handsshould be placed on the steering wheel at the 9:00 and 3:00 o'clock positions. The passenger's armsand hands should be placed on their laps.
o Do not use any accessory seat covers.

!WARNING:
o Extreme Hazard! Do not use a rearward facing child restraint on a seat protected by an airbag in front of it!
o Do not install a child restraint sys- tem in the front passenger seatposition. A child restraint system mustnever be placed in the front seat. The infant or child could be se- verely injured by an airbag de-ployment in case of an accident. o Modification to SRS components
or wiring, including the addition of any kind of badges to the pad covers or modifications to the bodystructure, can adversely affect SRS performance and lead to possible injury.
o For cleaning the airbag pad cov- ers, use only a soft, dry cloth orone which has been moistenedwith plain water. Solvents or clean- ers could adversely affect the airbag covers and proper deploy-ment of the system.
o No objects should be placed over
or near the airbag modules on thesteering wheel, instrument panel, and the front passenger's panel above the glove box, because anysuch object could cause harm if the vehicle is in a crash severe enough to cause the airbags toinflate.
o If the airbags inflate, they must be
replaced by a Hyundai authorisedrepairer.
B240C01NF-EAT SRS Care The SRS is virtually maintenance-free and so there are no parts you can safelyservice by yourself. If the SRS SRI (Service Reminder Indicator) does not come on, or continuously remains on,have your vehicle immediately in- spected by your Hyundai authorised repairer. Any work on the SRS system, such as removing, installing, repairing, or anywork on the steering wheel must be performed by a qualified Hyundai tech- nician. Improper handling of the SRSsystem may result in serious personal injury.

53MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH
SB220A1-E Turn Signal Operation To signal an intention to turn right, the switch lever should be pressed down. To signal an intention to turn left, the switch lever should be pushed upwards. In both instances, the turn signal lights and the instrument cluster warning light will flash. Upon completion of the ma-noeuvre, the lever will, under normal circumstances, return to the "OFF" position. However, if the manoeuvreinvolved only a small movement of the steering wheel, the signal may need to be cancelled manually. If either turnsignal indicator flashes more rapidly than normal or refuses to flash at all, a malfunction of the turn signal systemmay exist. SB220B1-E Lane Change Signal To indicate an intention to change lanes, moving the lever slightly towards the direction of the relevant turn signal will cause the turn signal lights to flash. When the lever is released, it will return to the "OFF" position.B340C05FC-EAT LIGHTING SWITCH The vehicle sidelights and headlights are operated by rotating the end of the turn signal switch barrel. To operate theside lights, rotating the switch to the first detent with ignition switch at the "OFF" position will cause the lights toilluminate. To operate the headlights, the turn signal switch barrel should be rotated to the second detent. The head-lights will only operate when the ignition switch is at the "ON" position. If the ignition switch is turned to the "OFF"position, only the side lights will func- tion.
