Your vehicle has been designed
primarily f or use on pavement. But
its higher ground clearance allows
you to occasionally travel on unpaved
roads, such as campgrounds, picnic
sites, and similar locations. It is not
designed f or trail-blazing, mountain
climbing, or other challenging of f -
road activities.

Maintenance Schedule for Severe Conditions

If your seat belts get dirty, use a sof t
brush with a mixture of mild soap
and warm water to clean them. Do
not use bleach, dye, or cleaning
solvents. Let the belts air-dry bef ore
you use the vehicle.Dirt build-up in the loops of the seat
belt anchors can cause the belts to
retract slowly. Wipe the insides of
the loops with a clean cloth
dampened in mild soap and warm
water or isopropyl alcohol.
The driver’s and the rear f loor mats
that came with your vehicle hook
over the f loor mat anchors. This
keeps the f loor mat f rom sliding
f orward and possibly interf ering with
the pedals or making the front
passenger’s weight sensors
inef f ective.

Remove the power steering
reservoir f rom the bracket. Pull it
away f rom the grounding strap. Connect the second jumper cable
to the negative ( ) terminal on
the booster battery. Connect the
other end to the grounding strap
as shown. Do not connect this
jumper cable to any other part of
the engine.If the booster battery is in another
vehicle, have an assistant start
that vehicle and run it at a fast idle.
Make sure the power steering
hose is not touching the power
steering belt or the pulley. Start your vehicle. If the starter
motor still operates slowly, check
that the jumper cables have good
metal-to-metal contact.
Once your vehicle is running,
disconnect the negative cable f rom
your vehicle, then f rom the
booster battery. Disconnect the
positive cable f rom your vehicle,
then from the booster battery.
Reinstall the power steering
reservoir.
Keep the ends of the jumper cables
away from each other and any metal
on the vehicle until everything is
disconnected. Otherwise, you may
cause an electrical short.
