µIf your vehicle’s battery is
disconnected or goes dead, or the
driver’s window f use is removed, the
AUTO f unction will be disabled. The
power window system needs to be
reset af ter reconnecting the battery
or installing the f use.
Start the engine. Push down and
hold the driver’s window switch
until the window is f ully open. Press the UNLOCK button once
to unlock the driver’s door.
Press the UNLOCK button a
second time, and hold it. The
passenger’s door unlocks, and
both windows start to open. To
stop the windows, release the
button.
If the power windows do not operate
properly af ter resetting, have your
vehicle checked by your dealer. You can open both windows f rom the
outside with the remote transmitter.
If the driver’s
window runs into any obstacle while
it is closing automatically, it will
reverse direction, and then stop. To
close the window, remove the
obstacle, then use the window switch
again.
Auto reverse stops sensing when the
window is almost closed. You should
always check that all passengers and
objects are away from the window
bef ore closing it. Pull and hold the driver’s window switch to close the window
completely, then hold the switch
f or about 2 seconds. To open the windows f urther,press the button again (within 10
seconds).
You cannot close the windows with
the remote transmitter.

You can open and close the windows

Insert the key in the driver’s door
lock.
Turn the key counterclockwise,
then release it.
Turn the key counterclockwise
again, and hold it. Both windows
starttoclose.Tostopthewindows,
release the key.

µThe scan f unction samples
all the tracks on the selected disc in
the order they are recorded on the
CD. To activate it, press and release
the SCAN button. You will see SCAN
in the display. You will get a 10
second sampling of each track on the
selected CD. Press the SCAN button
again to get out of the system.
You can also load a CD into an empty
position while a CD is playing by
pressing the appropriate side of a
preset bar. The system stops playing
the current CD and starts the
loading sequence. It plays the CD
just loaded.
You operate the CD changer with
the same controls used f or the radio.
The numbers of the disc and track
playingareshowninthedisplay.
To select a dif f erent disc, press the
appropriate side of a preset bar
(1 6) or use the preset 5 (DISC )
to select the previous disc or preset 6
(DISC ) to select the next disc in
sequence.If you select a loaded
position in the CD changer, the
system will try to load the CD in the
next available slot. Each time you
press and release , the system
skips forward to the beginning of the
next track. Press and release to
skip backward to the beginning of
the current track. Press it again to
skip to the beginning of the previous
track.
To move rapidly within a track, press
and hold or . This f unction samples
the first track of each disc in the
order they are loaded in the CD
changer. To activate it, select D-
SCAN by pressing and holding the
SCAN button. You will see D-SCAN
in the display. You will get a 10
second sampling of the f irst track on
each CD. Press the SCAN button

You cannot load and play 3-inch
(8-cm)discsinthissystem.
Repeat this until all six positions
are loaded. If you are not loading
all six positions, the system begins
playing the last CD loaded. Do not try to insert a disc until
‘‘LOAd’’ appears. You could
damage the audio unit. When the CD load indicator turns
green and ‘‘LOAd’’ appears in the
screen again, insert the next CD in
the slot. You can also load a CD into an empty
position while a CD is playing by
touching a disc icon. The system
stops playing the current CD and
starts the loading sequence. It plays
the CD just loaded.
You operate the CD changer with
the same controls used f or the radio.

playingareshowninthedisplay.
These numbers also appear in the
upper display.

on. Insert it only about half way;
the drive will pull it in the rest of
the way. You will see ‘‘BUSY’’ in
the upper display as the CD load
indicator turns red and blinks as
the CD is loaded.
To use the controls, press the
AUDIO DISPLAY button.
When you touch
this icon on the audio display or
press the SCAN button, you will get
a10secondsamplingof eachtrack
on the current CD. You will see
TRACK SCAN highlighted on the
audioscreenandSCANintheupper
display. Press the icon or button
again to get out of track scan.

Once the security system is set,
opening either door without using
the key or the remote transmitter,
the hood, or the trunk will cause the
system to alarm. It also alarms if the
radio is removed f rom the dashboard
or the wiring is cut.With the system set, you can still
open the trunk with the remote
transmitter without triggering the
alarm. The alarm will sound if the
trunk lock is f orced, or the trunk is
opened with the trunk release handle
or the emergency trunk opener.
The security system helps to protect
your vehicle and valuables f rom thef t.
The horn sounds and a combination
of headlights (low beam), parking
lights, side marker lights, and
taillights f lash if someone attempts
to break into your vehicle or remove
the radio. This alarm continues f or 2
minutes, then it stops. To reset an
alarming system before the 2
minutes have elapsed, unlock the
driver’s door with the key or the
remote transmitter.
The security system automatically
sets 15 seconds after you lock the
doors, hood, and trunk. For the
system to activate, you must lock the
doors f rom the outside with the key,
lock tab, door lock switch, or remote
transmitter. The security system
indicator on the instrument panel
starts blinking immediately to show
you the system is setting itself . The security system will not set if
the hood, trunk, or either door is not
f ully closed. Bef ore you leave the
vehicle, make sure the doors, trunk,
and hood are securely closed.
To see if the system is set
af ter you exit the vehicle, press the
LOCK button on the remote
transmitter within 5 seconds. If the
system is set, the horn will beep
once.
Do not attempt to alter this system
or add other devices to it.

You must also press the release
button to shift into Park. To avoid
transmission damage, come to a
complete stop bef ore shif ting into
Park. The shif t lever must be in Park
bef ore you can remove the key f rom
the ignition switch. Use neutral if you
need to restart a stalled engine, or if
it is necessary to stop brief ly with
the engine idling. Shif t to the Park
position if you need to leave your
vehicle for any reason. Press on the
brake pedal when you are moving
the shift lever from neutral to
another gear.
This position mechani-
cally locks the transmission. Use
Park whenever you are turning of f or
starting the engine. To shif t out of
Park, you must press on the brake
pedal and have your f oot of f the
accelerator pedal. Press the release
buttononthefrontof theshiftlever
to move it. Press the brake
pedal and press the release button
on the f ront of the shif t lever to shif t
f rom Park to reverse. To shif t f rom
reverse to neutral, come to a
completestopandthenshift.Press

If you exceed the maximum speed
f or the gear you are in, the engine
speed will enter into the tachometer’s
red zone. If this occurs, you may f eel
the engine cut in and out. This is
caused by a limiter in the engine’s
computer controls. The engine will
run normally when you reduce the
rpm below the red zone.
Use second gear:
For more power when climbing.
To increase engine braking when
going down steep hills.
For starting out on a slippery
surf ace or in deep snow.
Use this position f or
your normal driving. The
transmission automatically selects a
suitable gear (1 through 5) f or your
speed and acceleration. You may
notice the transmission shif ting up at
higher engine speeds when the
engine is cold. This helps the engine
warm up f aster.
This position is
similar to D, except only the f irst
three gears are selected. Use D
when towing a trailer in hilly terrain,
or to provide engine braking when
going down a steep hill. D can also
keep the transmission f rom cycling
between third and f ourth gears in
stop-and-go driving. When driving downhill with a
trailer. To help reduce wheel spin.
To shif t to second,
pressthereleasebuttononthefront
of the shif t lever. This position locks
the transmission in second gear. It
does not downshif t to f irst gear
when you come to a stop. To shif t f rom second to
first, press the release button on the
f ront of the shif t lever. This position
locks the transmission in f irst gear.
By upshif ting and downshif ting
through 1, 2, D , and D, you can
operate this transmission much like
a manual transmission without a
clutch pedal.
