AIR FILTER CLEANING
NOTE:Proper air filter maintenance is the
biggest key to preventing premature
engine wear and damage.
CAUTION:
Never run the engine without the
air filter element in place; this
would allow dirt and dust to enter
the engine and cause rapid wear
and possible engine damage.
1. Remove:
Air filter case cover

NOTE:Loosen the quick screw
2 and draw
the air filter case cover to remove it
because its claws
a are inserted in
the side cover as shown.
2. Unhook:

4. Clean:
Air filter element
Clean them with solvent.
NOTE:After cleaning, remove the remaining
solvent by squeezing the element.
CAUTION:
Do not twist the element when
squeezing the element.
Leaving too much of solvent in
the element may result in poor
starting.
NETTOYAGE DU FILTRE A AIR
N.B.:
Un bon entretien du filtre à air est la
meilleure façon d’éviter l’usure et
l’endommagement prématurés du
moteur.
ATTENTION:
Ne jamais faire tourner un moteur
lorsque l’élément du filtre à air n’est
pas en place. Des crasses et des pous-
sières pourraient pénétrer dans le
moteur et provoquer son usure pré-
maturée et d’éventuels dommages.
1. Déposer:
Couvercle du boîtier de filtre à air

N.B.:
Desserrer la vis de serrage rapide 2 et
tirer le couvercle du boîtier de filtre à air
pour le déposer car ses pattes a sont
insérées dans le couvercle latéral comme
illustré.
2. Décrocher:
Fixation 1
3. Déposer:
Elément de filtre à air 1
Guide de filtre 2
4. Nettoyer:
Elément de filtre à air
Nettoyer à l’aide d’un solvant.
N.B.:
Après nettoyage, éliminer l’excès de sol-
vant en pressant l’élément.
ATTENTION:
Ne pas tordre l’élément.
Un excès de solvant risque de provo-
quer des problèmes de démarrage.

NOTE:Tighten the rotor nut to 65 Nm (6.5 m  kg, 47 ft  lb), loosen and retighten the rotor nut to 65 Nm (6.5 m  kg, 47 ft  lb).

Embrayage du démarreur

Endommagement/usure → Rem-
placer.

rités/usure → Remplacer les piè-
ces défectueuses.

NOTE:Install the starter clutch with its
plate side upward.
While installing the starter clutch,
push in the projections
a one by
one on the clutch circumference.
Push in the starter clutch until it
hits the rotor.

cover by fitting its pawls

groove

Woodruff key 1
Rotor 2
NOTE:Clean the tapered portions of the
crankshaft and rotor.
When installing the woodruff key,
make sure that its flat surface a is
in parallel with the crankshaft cen-
ter line b.
When installing the rotor, align the
keyway c of the rotor with the
woodruff key.

6. Monter:
Embrayage du démarreur 1
Sur le rotor 2.
N.B.:
Monter l’embrayage du démarreur en
orientant sa plaque vers le haut.
Pour monter l’embrayage du démar-
reur, enfoncer les ergots a un par un
sur la circonférence de l’embrayage.
Enfoncer l’embrayage du démarreur
jusqu’à ce qu’il touche le rotor.
7. Monter:
Couvercle de l’embrayage du
démarreur complet 1
Sur le rotor 2.
N.B.:
Monter l’embrayage du démarreur com-
plet en engageant ses cliquets a dans la
gorge b du rotor.
8. Monter:
Clavette demi-lune 1
Rotor 2
N.B.:
Nettoyer les parties coniques du vile-
brequin et du rotor.
En montant la clavette demi-lune,
veiller à ce que sa surface plane a
soit parallèle à la ligne de centrage du
vilebrequin b.
En montant le rotor, aligner la rainure
c du rotor avec la clavette demi-lune.
