WARNING
Wait for the engine and radiator to cool before
removing the radiator cap. You could be
burned by hot fluid and steam blown out under
pressure. Always put a thick rag over the cap
when opening. Allow any remaining pressure
to escape before completely removing the cap.

CAUTION:_ Mix antifreeze with distilled water only. Howev-
er, if distilled water is not available, soft water
may be used for refilling._Changing the coolant
The coolant must be changed by a Yamaha dealer
at the intervals specified in the periodic mainte-
nance and lubrication chart.NOTE:_
Adding water instead of coolant lowers the
antifreeze content of the coolant. If water is
used instead of coolant, have a Yamaha
dealer check the antifreeze content of the
coolant as soon as possible.
The radiator fan operation is completely auto-
matic. It is switched on or off according to the
coolant temperature in the radiator.
_If your vehicle overheats, see page 8-134 for de-
tails.
