If water alone is not strong enough to remove the accumulated dirt, use amild car washing solution. Be sure to rinse the surface after washing to re- move the solution. Never allow thesolution to dry on the painted surfaces. E030B01A-AAT Spot Cleaning Don't use gasoline, strong solvents or corrosive cleaning agents. These can damage the finish of the car. To re- move road tar, use turpentine on aclean, soft cloth or commercially avail- able bug and tar remover. Be gentle. To remove dead insects or tree sap,use warm water and mild soap or car- washing solution. Soak the spot and rub gently. If the paint has lost itsluster, use a commercial car-cleaning polish. E030C01A-AAT Polishing and Waxing Always wash and dry the car before polishing or waxing or using a combi-nation cleaner and wax. Use a good quality commercial product and follow the manufacturer's directions on thecontainer. Polish and wax the bright trim pieces as well as the paint. E030D01A-AAT When to Wax Again You should polish and wax the car again when water no longer beads on a clean surface but spreads out over a larger area.
E030E01A-AAT Maintaining Bumpers Special precautions must be observed to preserve the appearance of thebumpers on your Hyundai. They are:
o Be careful not to spill battery elec-
trolyte or hydraulic brake fluid on the bumpers. If you do, wash it off immediately with clean water.
o Be gentle when cleaning the bumper surfaces. They are made of softplastic and the surface can be dam-aged if mistreated. Do not use abra- sive cleaners. Use warm water and mild soap or car-washing solution.
o Do not expose the bumpers to high temperatures. For example, if youhave your car repainted, do notleave the bumpers on the car if the car is going to be placed in a high- temperature paint booth.

JE070A1-E POLISHING The exterior paint work should be pol- ished with a proprietary wax polish when water no longer collects in beadform on the paint work. The instruc- tions of the product manufacturer should be adhered to. JE080A1-E BUMPER MAINTENANCE The special material from which the bumpers are manufactured warrantsspecial attention to preserve the ap- pearance of the bumpers. Avoid con- tact with battery electrolyte or brakefluid and ensure that accidental spill- ages are immediately flushed with water.Do not use abrasive cleaning materi- als which may damage the bumpers. Avoid subjecting the bumpers to hightemperatures such as may be encoun- tered in high bake paint ovens.
JE090A1-E ACCIDENT REPAIRS In the event of the body work sustain- ing damage, the following points shouldbe noted prior to repairs being under- taken. If body panels are replaced or re-paired, anti corrosion treatment must be applied to the repair area. The product used must be compatible withthose used in manufacture. It is rec- ommended that repairs are entrusted to a Hyundai dealer to ensure thatreplacement parts used are of the same high quality as those used in manufac- ture of the vehicle and that the correctrepair methods and materials will en- sure adequate levels of corrosion pro- tection and the continued validity of theAnti Perforation Warranty.
JE060A1-E STAIN/SPOT REMOVAL Should tree sap, dead insects or tar prove to be difficult to remove from thepaint film, turpentine or a proprietary paint cutting compound may be used. Ensure that the area to be cleaned isnot rubbed intensively to prevent break- ing through the colour coat and expos- ing the under coat.
