DOOR LOCKS

WARNING:
o Unlocked doors can be danger- ous. Before you drive away (es- pecially if there are children inthe car), be sure that all the doors are securely closed and locked so that the doors cannot be inad-vertently opened from the inside. This helps ensure that the doors will not be opened accidentally.Also, when combined with the proper use of seat belts, locking the doors helps keep occupantsfrom being ejected from the car in case of an accident.
o Before opening the door, always look for and avoid oncoming traf-fic.
o In case of accident, the door is unlocked automatically (If in-stalled).

o The door can be locked or unlockedwith a key.
o Lock the door by turning the key toward the front of the vehicle and unlock it by turning the key towardthe rear. HGK2008

To recline the seatback, lean forward to take your weight off it, then pull up onthe recliner control lever at the outside edge of the seat. Now lean back until the desired seatback angle is achieved.To lock the seatback into position, release the recliner control lever. WARNING:
To minimize risk of severe injury inthe event of a collision or a sudden stop, both the driver's andpassenger's seatbacks should al- ways be in an upright position while the vehicle is in motion. The protec-tion provided by the seat belts and airbags in a frontal collision may be reduced significantly when the seatbacks are reclined. There is greater risk that the driver and passenger will slide under the seat belt which may result in serious injury if a crash occurs when the seatbacksare reclined. The seat belt cannot provide full protection to an occu- pant if the seat back is reclined.
B080B02A-AAT Adjusting Seat Forward and Rearward To move the seat toward the front or rear, pull the lock release lever up-ward. This will release the seat on its track so you can move it forward or rearward to the desired position. Whenyou find the position you want, release the lever and slide the seat forward or rearward on its track until it locks intothe desired position and cannot be moved further. HGK2027

This vehicle contains two rear seat- ing positions only and a seat belt for each seating position. Thus, never permit more than two occu-pants to ride in the rear seat be- cause an unrestrained occupant could be seriously injured or killedin the event of a vehicle crash. B130A01GK-AAT REAR SEAT ENTRY (Walk in device) The driver and front passenger's seatbacks should be tilted to enter therear seat. By pulling up the walk in device lever (1) at the left-upper side of the driver sideseatback, the seatback will tilt forward. Then pull the lock release lever (2) up to move the seat forward.

Don't drive with the passenger side seatback reclined. It is dangerous tomove it while driving. Be sure the seatback is caterred firmly before driving. B099A01F-AAT BEFORE FOLDING THE REAR SEATS In order to prevent the shoulder belt from being damaged while folding therear seat, the shoulder belt must be passed through the hanger to keep it out of the way.

By pulling up the walk in device lever (1) at the right-upper side of the passengerside seatback, the seatback will tilt forward. Then push the seat forward to allow the occupants to enter. Recliner Memory By pulling up the walk in device lever (1), the seatback is reclined and re- turned to the original position. (1)

B110A02S-AAT FOLDING REAR SEATBACKS The rear seatbacks may be folded to facilitate carrying long items or to in- crease the luggage capacity of thevehicle.
o To unlock the seatback, push the seatback locking button, then pull forward on the seatback panel.
o When you return the seatback to its upright position, always be sure ithas locked into position by pulling and pushing on the top of theseatback.

The purpose of the fold-down rear seatbacks is to allow you to carry longer objects than could other-wise be accommodated. Never al- low passengers to sit on top of the folded down seat back while the caris moving as this is not a proper seating position and no seat belts are available for use. This couldresult in injury in case of an acci- dent or sudden stop. Objects car- ried on the folded down seatback should not extend higher than the top of the front seats. This couldallow cargo to slide forward and cause injury or damage during sud- den stops. B150B01Y-GAT Infant or Small Child Some countries require the use of child restraint systems for infants andsmall children. Whether this is required by law or not, it is strongly recom- mended that a child restraint seat orinfant restraint system be used for infants or small children weighing less than 18 kilograms (40 pounds). NOTE: Small children are best protected in an accident when properly re-strained by a child restraint sys- tem.B150C02A-AAT Larger Children Children who are too large for child restraint systems should always oc-cupy the rear seat and use the avail- able lap/shoulder belts. The lap por- tion should be fastened snug on thehips and as low as possible. Check belt fit periodically. A child's squirming could put the belt out of position. Childrenare afforded the most safety in the event of an accident when they are restrained by a proper restraint systemin the rear seat. If a larger child (over age 13) must be seated in the front seat, the child should be securely re-strained by the available lap/shoulder belt and the seat should be placed in the rearmost position. Children underthe age of 13 should be restrained securely in the rear seat. NEVER place a child under the age of 13 in the frontseat.
