B660B01GK-GAT To Set the Cruise Speed
1. Push in the cruise control main
switch on the end of the barrel. The "CRUISE" indicator light in the in-strument cluster will be illuminated. This turns the system on.
2. Accelerate to the desired cruising speed above 25 mph (40 km/h).
3. Push the control switch downward
to "SET (COAST)" and release it.
4. Remove your foot from the accel- erator pedal and the desired speed will automatically be maintained.The "SET" indicator light in the in- strument cluster will illuminated. B660B01GK

5. To increase speed, depress the
accelerator pedal enough for the vehicle to exceed the preset speed. When you remove your foot from the accelerator pedal, the vehiclewill return to the speed you have set.
WARNING:
To avoid accidental cruise controlengagement, keep the cruise con- trol main switch off when not using the cruise control.B660C01GK-AAT To Cancel the Cruise Speed To disengage the cruise control sys- tem, Pull the control switch toward the steering wheel to "CANCEL" position.Additionally, the following actions will disengage the system:
o Depress the brake pedal.

o Shift the selector lever in "N" posi- tion (Automatic transaxle).

o Keep the main switch off when not using the cruise control.
o Use the cruise control system only when traveling on open high- ways in good weather.
o Do not use the cruise control when it may not be safe to keepthe car at a constant speed, for instance, driving in heavy or vary-ing traffic, or on slippery (rainy, icy or snow-covered) or winding roads or over 6% up-hill or down-hill roads.
o Pay particular attention to the
driving conditions whenever us-ing the cruise control system.
o During cruise-control driving
with a manual transaxle vehicle,do not shift into neutral without depressing the clutch pedal, or the engine will be overrevved. Ifthis happens, depress the clutch pedal or release the main switch. o With the cruise control engaged,
when the brake pedal is applied, it is normal to hear the cruise control system deactivate. This is an indication of normal systemoperation.
o During normal cruise control
operation, when the"SET(COAST)" is activated or reactivated after applying the brakes, the cruise control willenergize after approximately 3 seconds. This delay is normal. NOTE: Do not hold the key in the "START" position for more than 15 seconds. "ON" When the key is at the "ON" position, the ignition and all accessories areavailable for use. If the engine is not running, the key should not be left at this position since the battery will be-come discharged and damage to the ignition system may also result. For information regarding engine starting,refer to "STARTING THE ENGINE". "ACC" When the ignition key is at the "ACC" position, the radio and other accesso- ries may be used. "LOCK" The ignition key may only be inserted or removed at this position. NOTE: The ignition key can only be re- moved if the transmission selector is at the "P" position (automatictransaxle only). SB050B1-E STEERING WHEEL LOCK When the key is removed, the steering column lock will be activated and willengage when the steering wheel is turned to the appropriate position. It is not necessary to turn the wheel untillocked each time the key is removed since in the event of any unauthorized attempt at removal, the lock will be-come effective as soon as the steering wheel is turned. To unlock the steer- ing, insert the key and turn to the"ACC" position. If the steering is locked, it may be necessary to rock the steer- ing wheel slightly to facilitate turningthe key. Under no circumstances should the key be forced since break- age of the key will occur.

C310A01JM-AAT ELECTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAM (ESP)(If Installed) The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) system is an electronic system de-signed to help the driver maintain ve- hicle control under adverse conditions. It is not a substitute for safe drivingpractices. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver steering input can all affect whether ESP will be effectivein preventing a loss of control. It is still your responsibility to drive and corner at reasonable speeds and to leave asufficient margin of safety.

The Electronic Stability Program (ESP)system is designed to stabilize the vehicle during cornering maneuvers. ESP checks where you are steeringand where the vehicle is actually going. ESP applies the brakes at individual wheels and intervenes in the enginemanagement system to stabilize the vehicle. WARNING:
Electronic stability program is a driv-ing aid; all normal precautions for driving in inclement weather and onslippery road surfaces should be observed.

In addition, anti-freeze solution must ALWAYS be used in vehicles fittedwith air conditioning, to prevent the heater matrix from freezing and sub- sequently bursting with the refrigera-tion system in use.
ZC170D1-E Door Locks Should the door lock mechanism be- come frozen, a proprietary lock de-icer should be used. Never attempt to thaw a frozen doorlock using hot water, since the water will eventually freeze and compound the problem. SC170E1-E Windscreen Washers and Wip- ers The windscreen washer bottle should be filled with a solution of water and a proprietary winter screen wash addi-tive. The windscreen wipers should not be used if the blades are frozen to the windscreen or if they are coveredwith snow, before this is removed. NOTE: Never allow undiluted screen washer fluid additive to spill upon the paintwork or use engine cool- ant anti-freeze since damage to thepaintwork may result.
o When driving in extreme conditions,
the windscreen wiper blades may fail to clear the screen properly due to the formation of ice upon theblade edge. It will therefore be nec- essary to periodically remove such ice to restore their efficiency.
o If the power operated door mirrors become frozen, attempts to adjustthese may damage the mechanism. o The formation of snow or ice built up
inside the wheel arches may inter-fere with the road wheels or steering mechanism. In such instances, un- usual noises or an increase in steer-ing effort may result. Therefore, ensure that the wheel arches are checked periodically and any accu-mulated snow or ice removed.
o It is advisable to carry emergency
equipment including, torch, shovel,tow rope, blankets etc., if a journey is to be undertaken into areas of severe road conditions.

SD070K1-E AFTER CHANGING WHEELS The pressure of the spare tyre should be checked at the first available oppor-tunity. If any doubt exists as to the tyre pressure, the vehicle should be driven slowly to the nearest service stationand the tyre pressure checked and adjusted as required. If the valve cap is lost from any of thevalves, a replacement should be ob- tained and fitted at the first available opportunity. The valve cap preventsthe ingress of dirt which may cause the valve to stick and therefore leak and is part of the valve sealing function. Ensure that the spare wheel, jack and wheel nut wrench as well tools are correctly located in the boot of the vehicle to prevent damage and noise. HGK4032
IF YOUR VEHICLE MUST BE TOWED
D080A01E-EAT If your vehicle has to be towed, it should be done by your Hyundaiauthorised repairer or a commercial tow truck service. This will help assure that your vehicle is not damaged in towing.Also, professionals are generally aware of local laws governing towing. In any case, rather than risk damage to yourcar, it is suggested that you show this information to the tow truck operator. Be sure that a safety chain system isused and that all local laws are ob- served. It is recommended that your vehiclebe towed with a wheel lift and dollies or flatbed equipment with all the wheels off the ground.
! CAUTION:
o Your vehicle can be damaged if towed incorrectly!
o Be sure the transaxle is in neu- tral.
o When the engine will not start, be sure the steering is unlocked by placing the key in the "ACC" po- sition.
