!WARNING:
o There is no rear centre seating position.
o Do not install a child restraint seat at the center of the rear seat using the vehicle's ISOFIX anchors. TheISOFIX anchors are only provided for the left and right outboard rear seating positions. Do not misusethe ISOFIX anchors by attempting to attach a child restraint seat in the middle of the rear seat to theISOFIX anchors. In a crash, the child restraint seat ISOFIX attach- ments may not be strong enoughto secure the child restraint seat properly in the center of the rear seat and may break, causing se-rious injury or death.
o When using the vehicle’s
“ISOFIX” system to install a childrestraint system in the rear seat, all unused vehicle rear seat belt metal latch plates or tabs must belatched securely in their seat belt buckles and the seat belt web- bing must be retracted behind the child restraint to
prevent the child
from reaching and taking hold of
unretracted seat belts. Unlatched metal latch plates or tabs may allow the child to reach theunretracted seat belts which may result in strangulation and a seri- ous injury or death to the child inthe child restraint.
o Do not mount more than one child
restraint to a child restraint loweranchorage point. Over-loading may cause the anchorage points or tether anchor to break, causingserious injury or death.
o Attach the ISOFIX or ISOFIX-com-
patible child restraint seat onlyto the appropriate locations shown in the illustration.
o Always follow the installation and use instructions provided by themanufacturer of the child re- straint. B230H02GK-EAT Child Seat Restraint Suitability For Seat Position Use child safety seats that have been officially approved and are appropriatefor your children.

NOTE:
o Both the driver's and front
passenger's pre-tensioner seat belts will be activated in certainfrontal collisions. The pre- tensioner seat belts can be acti- vated alone or, where the frontalcollision is severe enough, to- gether with the airbags.
o When the pre-tensioner seat belts are activated, a loud noise maybe heard and fine dust, which may appear to be smoke, may bevisible in the passenger compart- ment. These are normal operat- ing conditions and are not haz-ardous.
o Although it is harmless, the fine
dust may cause skin irritationand should not be breathed for prolonged periods. Wash your hands and face thoroughly afteran accident in which the pre- tensioner seat belts were acti- vated. CAUTION:
o Because the sensor that activates the SRS airbag is connected withpre-tensioner seat belt, the SRSairbag warning light on the instrument panel will come on for approximately 6 seconds af-ter the ignition key has been turned to the "ON" position, and then it should turn off.
o If pre-tensioner seat belt is not working properly, this warninglight will illuminate even if the SRS system is not functioning. If the SRS airbag warning light doesnot illuminate when the ignition key is turned to "ON", or if it re- mains illuminated after comingfor approximately 6 seconds, or if it illuminates while the vehicle is being driven, please have aHyundai authorised repairer in- spect the pre-tensioner seat belts and SRS airbag system as soon aspossible.

o Improper handling of the pre-
tensioner seat belt assemblies, and failure to heed the warnings to not strike, modify, inspect, re-place, service or repair the pre- tensioner seat belt assemblies may lead to improper operationor inadvertent activation and se- rious injury.
o Always wear seat belts when driv- ing or riding in a motor vehicle.
SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT (AIRBAG) SYSTEM (SRS)
B240A01GK-GAT (Not all models) Your Hyundai is equipped with a Supplemental Restraint (Airbag) Sys- tem. The indications of the system'spresence are the letters "SRS AIR BAG" embossed on the ornament in the steering wheel and the passenger'sside front panel pad above the glove box. The Hyundai SRS consists of airbags installed under the pad covers in the center of the steering wheel and thepassenger's side front panel above the glove box. The purpose of the SRS is to provide the vehicle's driver and/orthe front passenger with additional pro- Driver's Airbag

!WARNING:
o Pre-tensioners are designed to operate only one time. After acti- vation, pre-tensioner seat belts must be replaced. All seat belts, of any type, should always bereplaced after they have been worn during a collision.
o The pre-tensioner seat belt as- sembly mechanisms become hotduring activation. Do not touch the pre-tensioner seat belt as-semblies for several minutes af- ter they have been activated.
o Do not attempt to inspect or re- place the pre-tensioner seat beltsyourself. This must be done by an authorized Hyundai dealer.
o Do not strike the pre-tensioner seat belt assemblies.
o Do not attempt to service or re- pair the pre-tensioner seat belt system in any manner.

tection than that offered by the seat belt system alone, in case of a frontalimpact of sufficient severity. NOTE: Be sure to read information about the SRS on the labels provided onthe front side of the sun visor and in the glove box.
WARNING:
o As its name implies, the SRS is designed to work with, and besupplemental to, the driver's and the passenger's three point seatbelt systems and is not a substi- tute for them. Therefore your seat belts must be worn at all timeswhile the vehicle is in motion. In addition, the airbags deploy only in certain frontal impact condi-tions severe enough to cause significant injury to the vehicle occupants.o The SRS is designed to deploy the airbags only when an impact is sufficiently severe and whenthe impact angle is less than 30° from the forward longitudinal axis of the vehicle and will not deployin side, rear or rollover impacts. Additionally, the airbags will only deploy once. Thus, seat beltsmust be worn at all times.
o Front airbags are not intended to
deploy in light collisions in whichprotection can be provided by the seat belt alone. o Front airbags are not intended to
deploy in side-impact, rear-im- pact or rollover crashes. In addi-tion, airbags will not deploy in frontal crashes below the deploy- ment threshold speed.
o The driver should sit back as far as possible while still maintain-ing control of the vehicle. If youare sitting too close to the airbag, it can cause death or serious injury when it inflates.
o No objects should be placed over or near the airbag modules onthe steering wheel, instrumentpanel, and the front passenger's panel above the glove box, because any such object couldcause harm if the vehicle is in a crash severe enough to cause the airbags to inflate.
o If the airbags inflate, they must be replaced by an authorizedHyundai dealer.

!WARNING:
o When the SRS is activated, there may be a loud noise and fine dust will be released throughout the vehicle. These conditions are normal and are not hazardous. However, the fine dust generated during airbag deployment may cause skin irritation. Wash yourhands and face thoroughly with lukewarm water and a mild soap after an accident in which theairbags were deployed.
o The SRS can function only when
the ignition key is in the "ON"position. If the SRS SRI does not flash, or continuously remains on after flashing for approxi-mately 6 seconds when the igni- tion key is turned to the "ON" position or after the engine isstarted, comes on while driving, the SRS is not working properly. If this occurs, have your vehicleimmediately inspected by your Hyundai dealer. o Before you replace a fuse or dis-
connect a battery terminal, turn the ignition key to the "LOCK" position or remove the ignition key. Never remove or replace theair bag related fuse(s) when the ignition key is in the "ON" posi- tion. Failure to heed this warningwill cause the SRS SRI to illumi- nate.
CAUTION:
When installing a container of liq- uid air freshener inside a vehicle, do not place it near the instrument cluster not on the instrument panelpad surface. If there is any leakage from the air freshener onto these areas (instrument cluster, instru-ment panel pad or air ventilator), it may damage these parts. If the liq- uid from the air freshener does leakonto these areas, wash them with water immediately.!

B990B04Y-EAT Side Impact Airbag (Not all models)
B990B02Y-R
Your Hyundai is equipped with a side impact airbag in each front seat. Thepurpose of the airbag is to provide the vehicle's driver and/or the front pas- senger with additional protection thanthat offered by the seatbelt alone. The side impact airbags are designed to deploy only during certain side-impactcollisions, depending on the crash se- verity, angle, speed and point of im- pact. The side impact air bags are notdesigned to deploy in all side impact situations.
!WARNING:
o The side impact airbag is supple- mental to the driver's and the passenger's seat belt systems and is not a substitute for them. Therefore your seat belts mustbe worn at all times whilst the vehicle is in motion. The airbags deploy only in certain side im-pact conditions severe enough to cause significant injury to the vehicle occupants.
o For best protection from the side
impact airbag system and toavoid being injured by the de- ploying side impact airbag, both front seat occupants should sitin an upright position with the seat belt properly fastened. The driver's hands should be placedon the steering wheel at the 9:00 and 3:00 o'clock positions. The passenger's arms and handsshould be placed on their laps. o Do not use any accessory seat
covers.
o Use of seat covers could prevent
or reduce the effectiveness of the system.
o Do not install any accessories on
the side or near the side impactairbag.
o Do not use excessive force on the side of the seat.
o Do not place any objects over the
airbag or between the airbag and yourself.
o Do not place any objects (an
umbrella, bag, etc.) between the front door and the front seat. Such objects may become dan-gerous projectiles and cause in- jury if the supplemental side im- pact air bag inflates.
o To prevent unexpected deploy- ment of the side impact air bagthat may result in personalinjury, avoid impact to the side airbag sensor when the ignition key is on.

!WARNING:
o Extreme Hazard! Do not use a rearward facing child restraint on a seat protected by an airbag in front of it! If you must use a rear facing childseat on the front seat, first deacti- vate the air bag system and ensure that the passenger's front air bag'off' indicator light in the instru- ment cluster is displayed.
o Do not install a child restraint sys- tem in the front passenger seatposition. A child restraint system must never be placed in the front seat. The infant or child could be se- verely injured by an airbag de-ployment in case of an accident.
o Modification to SRS components
or wir-ing, including the additionof any kind of badges to the pad cover or modifications to the body structure, can adverselyaffect SRS performance and lead to possible injury.
o For cleaning the horn pad, use
only a soft, dry cloth or one whichhas been moistened with plain water. Solvents or cleaners couldadversely affect the airbag cover and proper deployment of the system.
o No objects should be placed over or near the airbag module on thesteering wheel, because any suchobject could cause harm if the vehicle is in a crash severe enough to cause the airbag to inflate.
B240C03Y-EAT SRS Care The SRS is virtually maintenance-free and so there are no parts you cansafely service by yourself. The entire SRS system must be inspected by an authorized Hyundai dealer 10 yearsafter the date that the vehicle was manufactured. Any work on the SRS system, such as removing, installing, repairing, or any work on the steering wheel must beperformed by a qualified Hyundai tech- nician. Improper handling of the SRS systemmay result in serious personal injury.
