Press this button once to
lock all doors and the tailgate. Some
exterior lights will f lash. When you
push LOCK button twice within 5
seconds, you will hear a beep to
verify that the doors and the tailgate
are locked. You cannot lock the
doors and the tailgate if any door or
the tailgate is not f ully closed or if
the key is in the ignition switch. Press this button once
to unlock the driver’s door. Press it
twice to unlock the other doors and
the tailgate. Some exterior lights will
f lash twice each time you press the
button. If you do not open any door
orthetailgatewithin30seconds,
they will automatically relock. Press and hold this
button for about 1 second to attract
attention; the horn will sound and
the exterior lights will f lash f or about
30 seconds. To cancel panic mode,
press any other button on the remote
transmitter or turn the ignition
switch to ON (II).

the PASSENGER’S SIDE SLIDING
DOOR button at the same time f or

remote transmitter will blink twice,
and all doors and the tailgate will
unlock simultaneously when you
press the UNLOCK button. To
cancel this f eature, press the LOCK
button and the PASSENGER’S SIDE
SLIDING DOOR button at the same time. The LED will blink once.
On the Touring model, you can
change this setting (see page ). When you press the UNLOCK
button, the f ront and rear individual

The security system automatically
sets 15 seconds after you lock the
doors, hood, and the tailgate. For the
system to activate, you must lock the
doorsandthetailgatefromthe
outside with the key, the lock tab,
the door lock switch, or the remote
transmitter. The security system
indicator in the instrument panel
starts blinking immediately to show
you the system is setting itself .Once the security system is set,
opening any door, the tailgate, or the
hood without using the key or the
remote transmitter, will cause it to
alarm. It also alarms if the radio is
removed f rom the dashboard or the
wiring is cut.The security system will not set if
the hood, tailgate, or any door is not
f ully closed. If the system will not set,
check the Door and Tailgate Open
Monitor on the instrument panel
(see page ), to see if the doors
and the tailgate are f ully closed.
Since it is not part of the monitor
display, manually check the hood.
Do not attempt to alter this system
or add other devices to it.
The security system helps to protect
your vehicle and valuables f rom thef t.
The horn sounds and a combination
of headlights, parking lights, side
marker lights and taillights f lashes if
someone attempts to break into your
vehicleorremovetheradio.This
alarm continues f or 2 minutes, then
the alarm stops. To reset an
alarming system bef ore the 2
minutes have elapsed, unlock either
f ront door with the key or the
remote transmitter.
