3. Remove the bulb by rotating it
counterclockwise and pulling it
straight out.
Handle a halogen headlamp
bulb carefully and keep out
of children’s reach. Grasp the bulb
only by its plastic base and do not
touch the glass. The oil from your
hand could cause the bulb to
break the next time the
headlamps are operated.
Install the new bulb in reverse
order.
Replacing front parking lamp/turn signal bulbs
1. Make sure the headlamp control is in the OFF position and open the
hood.
2. Locate the lamp assembly from
underneath the vehicle and rotate
the bulb socket counterclockwise
and remove from lamp assembly.
3. Pull the bulb straight out from
the socket.
Install the new bulb in reverse order.

Note:Your vehicle must be equipped with the active anti-theft system,
the ignition must be in the 1 (OFF/LOCK) position and the accessory
delay feature must not be activated in order for this feature to operate.
Closing all windows (if equipped)
Note:This operation is only available using the door key in the driver
door lock cylinder.
You can close the vehicle’s windows by using the door key.
Turn the key toward the back of the vehicle and hold it for more than
two seconds to begin to close all the windows. Releasing the key to the
center position will stop all motion.
Note:Your vehicle must be equipped with the active anti-theft system,
the ignition must be in the 1 (OFF/LOCK) position and the accessory
delay feature must not be activated in order for this feature to operate.
If an obstruction occurs, turn the key toward the front of the

all the windows.
Before operating power windows, you should verify that they are
free of obstructions and ensure that children and/or pets are not
in the proximity of window openings.
INTERIOR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT RELEASE

To open the luggage compartment
door (lid) from within the luggage
compartment, pull the illuminated
“T”shaped handle and push up on
the trunk lid. The handle is
composed of a material that will
glow for hours in darkness following
brief exposure to ambient light.
The“T”shaped handle will be
located either on the luggage
compartment door (lid) or inside
the luggage compartment near the
tail lamps.
Keep vehicle doors and
luggage compartment
locked and keep keys and remote
transmitters out of a child’s reach.
Unsupervised children could lock
themselves in the trunk and risk
injury. Children should be taught
not to play in vehicles.
On hot days, the temperature in the trunk or vehicle interior can
rise very quickly. Exposure of people or animals to these high
temperatures for even a short time can cause death or serious
heat-related injuries, including brain damage. Small children are
particularly at risk.
REMOTE ENTRY SYSTEM
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC rules and with RS-210 of
Industry Canada. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

Energy Management Feature
•This vehicle has a safety belt system with an energy management
feature at the front seating positions to help further reduce the risk of
injury in the event of a head-on collision.
•This safety belt system has a retractor assembly that is designed to
pay out webbing in a controlled manner. This feature is designed to
help reduce the belt force acting on the occupant’s chest.
After any vehicle collision, the safety belt system at all outboard
seating positions (except driver, which has no“automatic locking
retractor”feature) must be checked by a qualified technician to verify
that the“automatic locking retractor”feature for child seats is still
functioning properly. In addition, all safety belts should be checked for
proper function.

BELT AND RETRACTOR ASSEMBLY MUST BE REPLACED if
the safety belt assembly“automatic locking retractor”feature or
any other safety belt function is not operating properly when checked
according to the procedures in Workshop Manual.
Failure to replace the Belt and Retractor assembly could
increase the risk of injury in collisions.
The front and rear safety restraints in the vehicle are combination lap
and shoulder belts. The front passenger and rear seat safety belts have
two types of locking modes described below:
Vehicle sensitive mode
This is the normal retractor mode, which allows free shoulder belt length
adjustment to your movements and locking in response to vehicle
movement. For example, if the driver brakes suddenly or turns a corner
sharply, or the vehicle receives an impact of approximately 5 mph (8
km/h) or more, the combination safety belts will lock to help reduce
forward movement of the driver and passengers.
Automatic locking mode
The automatic locking mode is not available on the driver safety belt.
When to use the automatic locking mode
In this mode, the shoulder belt is automatically pre-locked. The belt will
still retract to remove any slack in the shoulder belt. The automatic
locking mode is not available on the driver safety belt.
This mode should be usedany timea child safety seat is installed in a
passenger front or outboard rear seating position. Children 12 years old
and under should be properly restrained in the rear seat whenever
possible. Refer toSafety restraints for childrenorSafety seats for
childrenlater in this chapter.
