Do not make any modifi- cations to the alarm sys-tem, this could causefaults.
To disarm external type protection only
see "Disarming" section.
Note: if you wish to charge or
replace the battery:
¥ Turn on the ignition.
¥ You have 10 seconds after turning on the ignition to press the internal protection switch 1and hold it
down for two seconds.
¥ The warning light flashes rapidly for three seconds.
¥ Disconnect the battery.
¥ After reconnecting the battery, lock, then unlock the vehicle using the remote control.
To set the alarm to external
protection only. If you want to leave a window partially open, or a pet inside the vehicle, youneed to select external protection only:
¥ Switch off the ignition.
¥ Within the next ten seconds, press
the internal protection button 1
until the light comes on.
¥ Get out of the vehicle.
¥ Press the locking button on the remote control.
¥ The doors lock.
¥ The direction indicators light for two seconds.
¥ The red light on the switch flashes once a second.

In good or rainy weather,
both day and night, the front fog lamps and therear fog lamp are daz-zling and are prohibited.
Do not forget to switch them offwhen they are no longer needed.

AUTOMATIC SWITCHING ON OF THE LIGHTS The side lights and dipped beam headlamps switch on automatically if
the light is poor, or during continuousoperation of the windscreen wipers.
They switch off as soon as the lightbecomes bright enough or the wind-screen wipers stop. This function is active when the vehi-
cle is supplied to the customer.
To disarm or activate the function: Place the key in the accessories position (1st notch),
Press the end of the lights stalkfor more than two seconds.
Note: in foggy weather, the bright-
ness sensor can detect sufficientlight. Because of this, the lights do
not come on automatically. Do not cover the brightness sen-
sor connected to the rain sensor,located on the windscreen behind
the mirror. It is used for automat-ic switching on of the lights. Operating check Activation Activation of this function is accom- panied by an audible signal and themessage
"Automatic lighting of
the headlamps activated" on the
multi-function display. Note: Manual operation of the lights
stalk always takes priority Disarming Disarming of the function is accom- panied by an audible signal and themessage "Automatic lighting of
the headlamps deactivated" on the
multi-function display. When driving, if this function is
switched off when the headlampswould switch on in automatic mode,the lights remain on. It is howeverpossible to disarm this function and
switch off the lights by:
Ð manually switching off the lights using the lights stalk,
Ð switching off the engine. If the brightness sensor does not
function correctly,
the system acti-
vates the function (the lights come
on). The driver is alerted by theflashing of the ''dipped beam'' warn-ing light on the instrument panel.

Follow me Home When there is a low level of bright- ness or at night, if you leave yourvehicle, the side lights and thedipped beam lights may remain onfor approximately one minute. This function can only be used if the automatic switching on of the lightsmode is activated then: with the key in the accessories position (1st notch), flash theheadlamps,
get out of the car and lock it.

Automatic day/night interior mirror This automatically and gradually changes between the day and night positions.
To prevent dazzling, the glass of the mirror darkens automatically depending onthe intensity of the light from behind. It clears as the light (headlamps of follow-
ing vehicles, sunlight) decreases, ensuring maximum visibility. Operation Switch on the ignition and press switch 1:
Ð Indicator light 2lit (switch pressed): automatic operation.
Ð Indicator light 2off: automatic system off. The mirror remains at its most clear.
Special feature
To ensure maximum visibility during manoeuvres, the mirror clears automatical- ly when reverse gear is engaged. Manual interior mirror The interior mirror has two positions:
Ð day (normal),
Ð night (anti-dazzle).
To change from one to the other, push or pull the lever on the lower
edge of the mirror.

CAR PARK TICKETS The athermic windscreen has two non-reflective zones located eitherside of the base of the interior
mirror.
They are intended for affixing toll cards and/or car park tickets.

Initial setting is position 0. HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS Press the button, the direction indi- cators flash. They can operate with the ignition
off.

When the vehicle is stationary, unlock the steering wheel by pullinghandle

Automatic lighting of hazard warning lights*
When braking in an emergency, depending on the force of decelera-tion, the hazard warning lights come
on automatically. They switch offautomatically the first time youaccelerate.
It is also possible to switch them off by pressing the button.

AUTOMATIC AUTOADAPTIVE GEARBOX The 4-speed automaticgearbox offers the comfort of integral automatic operation ,
enhanced by a sportprogramme (switch A) and a snowprogramme (switch B).
Gear selection gate Move the lever in the gate to select one of the positions.Once the position is selected, the indicator light for that position illuminates on
the instrument panel display.
P. Park: for immobilising the vehicle and for startingthe engine, with the hand-
brake on or off. R. Reverse: this must be engaged when the vehicle is stationary and the engine
