Service Data Recording
Service data recorders in your vehicle are capable of collecting and
storing diagnostic information about your vehicle. This potentially
includes information about the performance or status of various systems
and modules in the vehicle, such as engine, throttle, steering or brake

Check fuel cap:Illuminates when
the fuel cap may not be properly
installed. Continued driving with
this light on may cause the Service
engine soon warning light to come
on. Refer toFuel filler capin theMaintenance and Specifications
chapter.
Brake system warning light:To
confirm the brake system warning
light is functional, it will
momentarily illuminate when the
ignition is turned to the ON position
when the engine is not running, or in a position between ON and START,
or by applying the parking brake when the ignition is turned to the ON
position. If the brake system warning light does not illuminate at this
time, seek service immediately from your dealership. Illumination after
releasing the parking brake indicates low brake fluid level and the brake
system should be inspected immediately by your servicing dealership.
Driving a vehicle with the brake system warning light on is
dangerous. A significant decrease in braking performance may
occur. It will take you longer to stop the vehicle. Have the vehicle
checked by your dealer immediately.
Anti-lock brake system:If the
ABS light stays illuminated or
continues to flash, a malfunction has
been detected, have the system
serviced immediately. Normal
braking is still functional unless the brake warning light also is
illuminated.
Air bag readiness:If this light fails
to illuminate when ignition is turned
to ON, continues to flash or remains
on, have the system serviced
immediately. A chime will also sound when a malfunction in the
supplemental restraint system has been detected.

ªEº for Europe to assure lamp performance, light brightness and pattern
and safe visibility. The correct bulbs will not damage the lamp assembly
or void the lamp assembly warranty and will provide quality bulb burn
time.

Handle a halogen headlamp bulb carefully and keep out of
children's reach. Grasp the bulb only by its plastic base and do
not touch the glass. The oil from your hand could cause the bulb to
break the next time the headlamps are operated.
Note: If the bulb is accidentally touched, it should be cleaned with
rubbing alcohol before being used.
The headlamp bulb should not be removed from the headlamp until just
before a replacement bulb is installed. Removing the bulb for an
extended period of time may affect headlamp bulb performance.
Contaminants may enter the headlamp where they can settle on the lens
and reflector. Never turn the headlamps on with the bulb removed.
Replacing front parking lamp/turn signal bulbs
The park/turn lamp bulbs can be replaced without removing the
headlamp assembly.
1. Make sure headlamp switch is in OFF position, then open the hood.
2. Remove the three pin type retainers and the radiator shield.
3. Remove the headlamp assembly retaining nuts, the side turn signal
lamp retaining nuts and the side turn signal assembly.
4. Remove the bulb from the side turn lamp assembly.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the bulb and replace the
bulb.
Note: The parking lamp/turn signal bulbs should not be removed from
the lamp until just before a replacement bulb is installed. Removing the
bulb for an extended period of time may affect headlamp bulb
performance. Contaminants may enter the headlamp where they can
settle on the lens and reflector. Never turn the lamps on with the bulb
removed.
6. To install, reverse the order of the removal procedure.
Replacing tail lamp/brake/turn lamp bulbs
The tail lamp, the brake lamp and the turn signal lamp bulbs are located
in the tail lamp assembly. Follow the same steps to replace either bulb.
