Operating system
You can read the current settings for Dis-
tronic in the Di stronic menu. The display
shown depends on whether Distronic and
the distance warning function are switched
on or off.
You can find out how to switch Distronic
and the distance warning function on or off
in the "Driving systems" section
( = page 197).
6 Press the èorÿ button repeat-
edly until you see one of the following
two displays. Distronic deactivated
When Distronic is deactivated, you will see
the sta ndard Distronic display.

Driving systems
Your vehicle's dr iving systems are
described on the following pages:
! Cruise control, Distronic* and
Speedtronic, which can be used to con-
tro lyour vehicle's speed
! Parktronic*, which assists you with
park ing and manoeuvring
The BAS, ABS, ESP and SBC driving safety
systems are described in the "Safety" sec-
tion ( =pag e68). Cr
uise control maintains your vehicle's
speed.
Us ecruise control if road and traf fic condi-
tions make it appropriate to maintain a
steady speed for a prolonge dperiod. You
can store any road speed above 30 km /h. Dr

ditions, even when cruise control is acti-
vated.
Cruise control is only an aid designed to
