Practical advice
Fuses
The electrical fuses in your vehicle inter-
rupt the power supply to the equipment in
the event of a malfunction. This prevents
damage to the rest of the on-board
electri cs.
The following are available for changing
fuses ( =page 385):
! Fuse allocation chart
! Spare fuses
! Fuse extractor !
Only use fuses wi th thespec ifie d amperage
fo r the system inques tion, and which have been
ap proved for Mercede s-Be nz.Electrical parts or
sys tems could otherwise bedamaged.
Do not attempt to repair or bridge faul tyfuses.
Have the cause traced and recti fied at a qualified
specialist workshop, e.g. a Mercedes-Benz Serv-
ic e Centre.
The electrical fuses are located in different
fus eboxes:
! Main fuse box onthe left of the dash-
boa rd (

! Fuse box in the engine compartment
on the left (
=page 386).
! Fuse box in the boot on the left

The fuse allocation chart is located in the
cover of the main fuse box on the dash-
board (
=page 386) .The amperage of the

The fuse extractor can be found in the cov-
er of the fuse box
inthe boot (
=page 387).
Cabriolet
The fuse extractor can be found in the ve-

Riskof fire Only use fuses with the speci
fied amperage
for the system in question, and which have
be en approved for Mercedes-Be nz.Other-
wise, a short-circuit could occur, which
