Opening /closing in an emergency
Fuel filler flap emergen cyrelease

side trim inthe boot.
6 Turn release key 1clockwise to the
stop.
The fuel filler flap is unlocked and can
be opened from outside. If the sli
ding /tilting sunroof can no longer
be moved electrically, you can operate it
wi th a crank. The drive is located inthe
overhead control panel behind the interior
light.

Flat tyre
6 If you have obtained a pressure of
1.8 bar, press the switch on the elec-
tric air pum pto 0.
The electric air pump isswitched off.
6 Discon nect the electric air pump.
6 Pull away immediately.
This allows the TIRE FIT sealant to dis-
tribute throughout the tyre.
6 Stop after about ten minutes and
chec kthe tyre pressure with the elec-
tric air pum p.
6If the tyre press ure is at least 1.3 bar,
correct it (see fuel filler flap for values).
To increase the tyre pressure:
6 switch on the electric air pump
To decrease the tyre pressure: 6 open the pr essure release screw on
pressure gauge 9 6
Drive to the nearest workshop and
have the tyre rep lace d.
6 Have the TIREFIT kit replaced as soon
as possible at a qua lified speci alist
wo rkshop, e.g. a Mercedes-Benz Serv-
ice Centre.
6 Have the TIRE FIT kit replaced every
four years at a quali fied specialist
wo rkshop, e.g. a Mercedes-Benz Serv-
ice Centre. G
Risk of accident If the pressure has fa
llen below1.3 bar, the
tyre is too badly damaged.
Do not dr ive any further. Consul ta qualified
specialist workshop which has the neces-
sary specialist knowledge and tools to carry
out the work required. Mercede s-Benz rec-
omm ends that you use a Merc edes-Benz
Service Centre for this purpose. In particu-
la r, work relevant to safety or on safety-
related systems must be carried out at a
qu alified specialist workshop. G
Risk of accident Do not
exceed the maximum speed of
80 km /h.
The "max. 80 km /h" stick ermust be affixed
within the driver's field of vision.

ty reasons, you use tyres which have be enspe-
cially approved by Mercedes-Benz for your
vehicle. These tyres are specially suite dto your
vehicle's control systems, such as ABS or ESP.
Mercedes-Benz can accept no responsibility for
damage resulting from using tyr esother than
tho seapprove dfor your vehicle. You may obtain
further information about tyres fro many
Mercedes-Benz Service Centre. !
If you use tyres other tha nth ose which have
been tested and rec ommendedbyMe rcedes-
Benz, characteristics su chas handling, noise lev-
el sa nd fuel consumption could be adver selyaf-
fe ct ed. Moreover, dimensional variations and
different tyre deformation characterist ics when
ru nn ingunder load could cause the tyre to make
co ntact with the bodywork or axle components.
The con sequence could be damage to the tyre or
to th evehicle. i

Your vehicle may be equipped with TIREFIT
or a spare wheel, depending on the coun-
try, engine installed and /orwh eels fitted. !
If your vehicl eis eq uipped with a "Mini-
sp are "emergency spare wheel, a tyre pres sure
of 4.2 bar or61 psi must be set.
! Atyre pressure of 3.5 bar or51 psi must be
se tfor the collapsible emergency spare wheel. !
For all other spare wheels, the highest value
on the tyre pressure table onthe inside of the
fuel filler flap should be set.
