B070A01A-AAT (Not all models) This system is designed to provide protection from unauthorized entry intothe car. This system is operated in three stages: the first is the "Armed" stage, the second is the "Alarm" stage, and the third is the "Disarmed" stage. If triggered, the system provides an audible alarm with blinking of the turnsignal light.
!
B070C01GK-EAT Alarm Stage The alarm will be activated if any of the following occur while the car is parked and the system is armed.
1) A front door is unlocked and opened without using the transmitter.
2) The hatchback door is opened with- out using the key.
3) The engine bonnet is opened. The siren will sound and the turn signal lamp will blink continuously for 30 sec- onds. To turn off the system, unlockthe door with the transmitter.
B070B02GK-EAT Armed Stage Park the car and stop the engine. Arm the system as described below.
1) Remove the ignition key from the
ignition switch.
2) Make sure that the engine bonnet and hatchback door are closed.
3) Lock the doors using the transmitter of the keyless entry system.
After completion of the steps above, the turn signal lamp will blink once to indicate that the system is armed. NOTE:
1) If any door, hatchback door or engine bonnet remains open, the system will not be armed.
2) If this happens, rearm the system as described above.
3) Once the system is armed, only
the hatchback door may be un- locked using the key without dis- arming the system. CAUTION:
Do not arm the system until allpassengers have left the car. If thesystem is armed while a passenger(s) remains in the car, the alarm may be activated whenthe remaining passenger(s) leaves the car.

The needle on the engine coolant tem- perature gauge should stay in the nor-mal range. If it moves across the dial to "H" (HOT), pull over and stop as soon as possible and turn off the engine. Then open the bonnet and check the coolant level and the water pump drive belt. If you suspect cooling systemtrouble, have your cooling system checked by Hyundai dealer as soon as possible.
B300A01Y-EAT SPEEDOMETER Your Hyundai's speedometer is cali- brated in miles per hour or kilometers per hour.B330A02A-AAT TACHOMETER The tachometer registers the speed of your engine in revolutions per minute (rpm).
CAUTION:
The engine should not be raced tosuch a speed that the needle entersthe red zone on the tachometer face. This can cause severe engine dam- age and may void your warranty.

!WARNING:
Fuel vapours are dangerous. Be- fore refuelling, turn off the engine and never allow sparks, lit ciga-rettes or open flames near the filler area. When releasing the filler cap, a small amount of residual pres-sure may generate a slight hissing sound which is not indicative of an abnormality. In the event of the fuelfiller cap requiring replacement, only a Genuine Hyundai replace- ment part should be used to pre-vent fuel leakage. HGK2018Q
SB440A1-E (Not all models) The fuel filler lid may be opened from inside the vehicle by pulling up on thefuel filler lid release. NOTE: If the fuel filler lid will not open because ice has formed around it, tap lightly or push on the lid to break the ice and release the lid. Donot lever the lid. If necessary, spray around the lid with an approved de- icer fluid (do not use radiator anti-freeze) or move the vehicle to a warm place and allow the ice to melt.REMOTE FUEL FILLER LID RELEASE

!WARNING:
o Always double check to be sure that the bonnet is firmly latched before driving away. If it is notlatched, the bonnet could fly open while the vehicle is being driven, causing a total loss of visibility, which might result in an acci- dent.
o Do not move the vehicle with the bonnet in the raised position, asvision is obstructed and the bon- net could fall or be damaged.

7. Swithc "ON" the main beam
headlamps before carefully remov- ing the jumper cables have been removed, switch "OFF" the main beam geadlamps. SD040A2-E If the temperature gauge indicates overheating:
1. Pull off the road and stop as soon as
it is safe to do so.
2. Place the gear selector lever in "P"
(automatic), or neutral (manual transaxle) and set the parking brake. If the air conditioning is on, turn it off.
3. If coolant is running out under the car or steam is coming out fromunder the bonnet stop the engine. Do not open the bonnet until thecoolant has stopped running or the steaming has stopped. If there is no visible loss of coolant and no steam, leave the engine running and check to be sure the engine cooling fan is operating. If the fan is not running, turn the engine off.
4. Check to see if the water pump drive belt is missing. If it is not missing, check to see that it is tight. If the drive belt seems to be satisfac-tory,check for coolant leaking from the radiator, hoses or under the car. (If the air conditioning had been in use,it is normal for cold water to be draining from it).
IF THE ENGINE OVERHEATS
1. Ensure that the booster battery is 12 volt type. If the booster battery is installed in another vehicle, ensure that the two vehicles are not touch- ing.
2. Turn off all unnecessary electrical equipment in both vehicles.
3. Ensure that the engine of the ve- hicle providing the jump start is run- ning prior to connection of the jump cables.
4. Connect the red jump cable to the positive (+) terminal of the boosterbattery and the other end to thepositive (+) terminal of the dis- charged battery.
5. Attach the black jump cable to the negative (-) terminal of thebooster battery, and the other end to a ground point within the enginecompartment of the vehicle with the flat battery. Do not connect to the negative battery terminal of the flatbattery since sparks may be gener- ated with the subsequent risk of explosion.
6. Raise the booster vehicle engine speed to 2,000 r.p.m. and start theengine of the vehicle with the flatbattery. CAUTION:
If the jump cable is incorrectly in-stalled, damage to the vehicle elec-trical system may occur, in particu- lar the electronic components such as the Fuel Injection system com- puter and the Automatic Transaxle computer. The battery must neverbe disconnected whilst the engine is running.

8ENGINE OIL AND FILTER REPLACEMENT
G040A04GK-EAT
o The engine oil consumption is
strongly effected by the viscosity and quality of oil, engine rpm and driving condition etc. More engine oil may be consumed under severe driving conditions such as high speeds, frequent acceleration and deceleration, compared to normal driving.
F040A02TB
G040A03E G040A01B
The engine oil and filter must be
changed at the time or mileage inter-val specified in the maintenance schedule. If the vehicle is operated under severe or adverse conditions, the oil and filter must be replaced more frequently.
To replace the oil and filter, proceed
as follows:
1. Ensure that the engine is at normal
operating temperature and park the vehicle on level ground with the parking brake securely ap-plied and the engine turned off.
2. Open the bonnet and remove the oil filler cap.

To Check the Transaxle Fluid Level Park the car on level ground with the
parking brake engaged. When the transaxle fluid level is checked, the transaxle fluid should be at normal operating temperature and the en-gine idling.
Whilst the engine is idling, apply the
brakes and move the gear selectorlevel from "P" to each of its other positions — "R", "N", "D" — and then return to "N" or "P". With the enginestill idling:
Recommended Lubricant Use only Hyundai Genuine ATF SP- III, DIAMOND ATF SP-III, SK ATF SP-III or other brands approved byHyundai Motor Co., Damage caused by a nonspecified fluid is not covered by your new vehicle limited warranty. Transaxle Fluid Capacity The fluid capacity of the automatic transaxle is 7.8 litres.
WARNING:
The transaxle fluid level should be checked when the engine is at normal operating temperature. This means that the engine, radiator, exhaust system etc., are very hot so you should exercise great care not to burn yourself during thisprocedure. 1. Open the bonnet, being careful to
keep hands and clothing clear ofany moving parts.
2. Remove the transaxle dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert the dipstick as far as it will go, then remove it again. Now check the fluid level on thedipstick. It should be in the "HOT" range on the dipstick.
