on.
None of the lights come on when a
door or the tailgate is opened. OFF
The individual map lights in the
f ront can be turned on and of f with
the switches next to the lights. The individual map lights in the
second and third rows cannot be
turned on.
Door
Activated The individual map lights come on
whenanydoororthetailgateis
opened, or when the remote
transmitter is used to unlock the
doors.
The individual map lights in the
second and third rows can be
turned on and of f by pressing the
lens.
The tailgate light comes on when
you open the tailgate if the light
switch is in the ON position.
The lights go out about 6 seconds
after all the doors and the tailgate
are closed. With any door or the
tailgate lef t open, the lights stay
on about 3 minutes, then go out. The courtesy lights in the f ront
doors and around the ignition switch
come on when you open any door.
Af ter you close the door, the ignition
switch light stays on f or several
seconds.

On EX models, turn this dial clockwise
to increase f an speed and increase
the airflow.

select the f an speed by pressing the
fan control buttons. The fan speed is
represented by vertical bars in the
display.
Turning this dial clockwise increases
the temperature of the airflow.
This button turns the air
conditioning on and of f . The light in
thebuttonisonwhentheA/Cison.
, you will see A/C ON
or A/C OFF in the display. When
you turn the A/C of f , the system
cannot regulate the inside
temperature if you set the dial below
the outside temperature. When the light in the button is on,
air f rom the vehicle’s interior is sent
throughout the system again. When
the light is of f , air is brought in f rom
the outside of the vehicle (Fresh Air
mode).
This button turns the rear window
def ogger of f and on (see page ).
Use the mode control dial or buttons
to select the vents the air flows from.
Some air will flow from the
dashboard corner vents in all modes.
Air flows from the center
and corner vents in the dashboard.
Air f low is divided between
the vents in the dashboard and the
f loor vents.

Keeping the system in Recirculation
mode, particularly with the A/C of f ,
can cause the windows to fog up. The outside air intakes f or the
heating and cooling system are at
the base of the windshield. Keep this
area clear of leaves and other debris.
Switch to Recirculation mode when
driving through dusty or smoky
conditions, then return to Fresh Air

Press and hold the CLOCK (SCAN/
RPT) button. Change the hours by
pressing the H (preset 4) button
until the numbers advance to the
desired time. Change the minutes by
pressing the M (preset 5) button
until the numbers advance to the
desired time. When you are f inished,
release the CLOCK button. If your vehicle’s battery is
disconnected or goes dead, you will
need to set the clock.
You can quickly set the time to the
nearest hour. If the displayed time is
bef ore the half hour, pressing and
holding the clock button, then
pressing the RESET (preset 6)
buttonsetstheclockbacktothe
previous hour. If the displayed time
is af ter the half hour, the clock sets
f orward to the beginning of the next
hour.
For example: 1:06 will reset to 1:00
1:52 will reset to 2:00 Therightdisplayshowsthetime
when the ignition is in the
ACCESSORY (I) or ON (II) position.
Press and hold the SET (TUNE)
button until the numbers f lash.

With this system, the rear
passengers can enjoy a dif f erent
entertainment source (radio, tape
player, CD player, or DVD player)
than the front seat occupants. The
audio is broadcast through the
supplied wireless headphones.Whenyouturnonthesystem,the
rear speakers are automatically
turned off. You will see the Rear
Speakers Of f icon in the display. The
sound f or the rear system is sent to
the wireless headphones.
If youwanttoturntherearspeakers
on again, press and hold the REAR
PWR button until the Rear Speakers
Off icon goes off.To operate the rear entertainment
system from the front panel, turn the
RR CTRL knob clockwise. The
amber RR LED comes on to show
that the control panel is enabled.
To play the radio or tape, the buttons
for the front entertainment system
have the same functions.

player or CD changer, select CD/

lower player, select DVD/AUX.

You must select another source. Press the REAR PWR button. To
turn on the rear controls (ceiling
panel or remote), press the RR
CTRL knob. The system’s icon
shows in the right side display. Your
passengers can then operate the rear
system with the control panel in the
ceiling or with the remote control.
Press the RR CTRL knob again to
turn the rear controls off. The rear speakers are
connected to the f ront system, so
they will always play the source that
the f ront system is set to.

Turn the RR CTRL knob clockwise.
The amber RR LED will come on to
show that the control panel is now
enabled.
Insert a DVD into the DVD/CD
player below the f ront panel. Press the PLAY button if
the DVD does not start playing
automatically. Press the eject button to
remove the DVD from the drive.
To return f ront panel control to the
front audio system, turn the RR
CTRL knob counterclockwise.
Each time you press and release the
( ) button, the system skips
forward to the next track or chapter.
Press and release the ( ) button to
skip backward to the beginning of
the current track or chapter. Press it
again to skip to the beginning of the
previous track or chapter. Press and hold the
( ) button to move f orward; you will
see ‘‘CUE’’ in the display. Press and
holdthe( )sidetomovebackward;
you will see ‘‘REV’’ in the display.
Release the button when the system
reaches the point you want. Press the PAUSE button
to pause the DVD. Press the button
again or press PLAY to resume.
Pause works only with the DVD

When you are not using the remote
control, store it in its holder in the
f ront seat pocket. To replace the batteries in the
remote control, press down on the
symbol on the back, then slide the
cover off. Remove the old batteries.
Make sure the polarity of the new
batteries is correct when you install
them. Slide the cover until it locks.
The remote control uses two AA
batteries.

Some state and local government
agencies prohibit the use of
headphones by the driver of a motor
vehicle. Always obey applicable laws
and regulations.
The audio f or the rear entertainment
system is sent to the wireless
headphones that come with the
system. To turn on the headphones,
presstheredbuttonontheearpiece.
Adjust the volume level with the dial
at the bottom of the same earpiece.To adjust the headphones, slide the
earpieces up or down the headband.
For greater battery lif e, turn of f the
headphones when they are not in use
by pressing the red button again.
They will turn of f automatically if
they do not receive an audio signal
f rom the system f or several minutes.
When not in use, store the
headphones in the pocket on the
back of either f ront seat.
The batteries are under the domed
covers on the back of each earpiece.
To remove a cover, press down on it
with your thumb, slide it backward
(away f rom the haedband), then lif t
it up. Remove the batteries and note
their polarity. Install the new
batteries in the earpiece with the
same polarity. Set the cover in place,
then slide it up until it locks. Each
headphone uses two AAA batteries.
