low-back. Whichever style you select,
make sure the booster meets f ederal
saf ety standards and that you f ollow

Canada recommend that all children
ages 12 and under be properly
restrained in the back seat.
If the passenger’s f ront airbag
inf lates in a moderate to severe
frontal collision, the airbag can cause
serious injuries to a child who is
unrestrained, improperly restrained,
sitting too close to the airbag, or out
of position.
Thesideairbagalsoposesrisks.If
any part of a larger child’s body is in
the path of a deploying side airbag,
the child could receive possibly
serious injuries.
A child may continue using a booster
seat until the tops of their ears are
even with the top of the vehicle’s or
booster’s seat-back. A child of this
height should be tall enough to use
the lap/shoulder belt without a
booster.
If a child who uses a booster must be
in f ront, move the vehicle seat as f ar
back as possible and be sure the
child is wearing the seat belt

To adjust the seat forward and
backward, pull up on the bar under
the seat cushion’s f ront edge. Then
trytomovetheseattomakesureit
is locked in position.To change the seat-back angle of the
f ront seat, pull up on the lever on the
outside of the seat bottom.

The head restraints help protect you
and your passengers f rom whiplash
and other injuries. They are most
ef f ective when you adjust them so
the back of the occupant’s head rests
against the center of the restraint.
The head restraints in the rear
outboard seating positions adjust f or
height. You need both hands to
adjust the restraint. To raise it, pull
upward. To lower the restraint, push
the release button sideways and
push the restraint down.
Your vehicle is equipped with head
restraints in the rear outboard
seating positions. To get into the rear seat on the
driver’s side, pull up on the seat-back
adjustment lever.
To get into the rear seat on the
passenger’s side, push down on the
release lever at the base of the seat-
back. The seat-back will tilt forward,
and the seat will slide forward to
allow easier access to the rear seat.

The back of the rear seat folds down
to give you more cargo space. Each
side f olds down separately. With only
half the seat f olded, you can still
carry a passenger in the back seat.Beforefoldingdowntheseat-back,
move the seat belt out of the way
and put the shoulder part of the
outside seat belt in the clip on each
side.
After you return the seat-back to the
upright position, push the whole seat
backwards until it latches. Make
sure the seat is f ully latched bef ore
you sit in it.

To unlatch either side of the seat-
back, pull up on the release lever,
then fold the seat-back down.Never drive with the seat-back
f olded down and the hatch open. See

Make sure all items in the cargo area
are secured. Loose items can f ly
f orward and cause injury if you have
to brake hard. See

To lock the seat-back upright, push it
firmly against its latch. Tug on the
seat-back to make sure it is latched.
Make sure the seat belts are
positioned in f ront of the rear seat-
back and the seat belt buckles are on
the seat cushion whenever the seat-
back is in its upright position. 47

Store or secure all items that could
be thrown around and hurt
someone during a crash.If you carry large items that

Distribute cargo evenly on the
f loor of the cargo area, placing the
heaviest items on the bottom and
as far forward as possible.

down items that could be thrown

Do not place items on the cargo
area cover, or stack objects higher
than the top of the back seat. They
could block your view and be
thrown about the vehicle during a
crash or sudden stop.
Be sure items placed on the f loor
behind the f ront seats cannot roll
under the seats and interf ere with
the driver’s ability to operate the
pedals or seat.
Keep the glove box closed while
driving. If it is open, a passenger
could injure their knees during a
crash or sudden stop.
