MOTOR-PROPELLING GROUP
Di sconnect the wiring c onnector from t he
reverse driving contact. The right-side planetary transmission is un-
coupled as follows:
-the brake-stirrup set is dismantled;
-disconnect the wire for the brake pads
wear indicator; -the t wo screws for fixing the shock-
absorber of the steering-swivel stand are taken
off;
The steering-swivel stand is tipped up and
the planetary t ransmission is taken out from
the planetary pinion of the gearbox;
The l eft-side planetary transm ission is un-
coupled as follows:
-the steering-swivel screw-nut is dis-
mantled; -t he scre ws for fi xi ng t he pl a neta ry
transmission on the gearbox a re taken off; -the brake-stirrup set is dismantled;
-the e lectric wire of the wear-and-abra -
sion light-i ndicator is taken off; -the t wo screws for fixing the shock-
absorber of the steering-swivel stand are taken
off; -the steeri ng-swivel stand is t ipped up
and the planetary tra nsmission is taken out; The fuse-box in the engine compartment
is dismantled.The following are disconnected: -connector 1 from the UCE injection
(pull flap 2, then disconnect);
-the front cabling of the engine;
-the connector of t he shock-sensor;
-the ventilator connector;
-the mass wire on the gearbox.
The battery protection screen is dis-
mantled.
The following are taken off:-the linking pipes coming from the ra -
diator, by using the pincers for elastic pipe-
collars MOT.1202-01B ;
-the linking pipes coming from the de-
gassing vessel, by using the pincers for elas-
tic pipe-collars MOT.1202-01B ;
-the pipes for a ir-conditioning coming
from the therm ostat stand and the water-pi pe;

The following are uncoupled:-the end of acceleration cable 1 from
the command lever of t he clapper; it is then
extracted off m uff 2 in the stand;
-the mileage cable: the two clamps are
pressed, and the cable is extra cted; -t he ri ght -si de he a dlight adjust m ent
cable, which is then positioned by the car
bodywork;
-the l inking pipes c oming from t he c arbon
canister and the canister-draining valve; -the fue l supply pi pes (both t he going- and
the re turn one) from the i njection ra mp, by
using MOT.1311-06 ;
The scre w linking the gear- bar and t he
auxiliary connecting rod to the gearbox is
dismantled.
MOTOR-PROPELLING GROUP
-the hydra ulic command con duit of the
clutch; fastener 1 is taken out and supply pipe
2 is withdrawn in the dire ction shown by the
arrow.

FUNCTIONING AND DIAGNOSING
These c ars are equipped with interna l ve ntilation alternators, with i n-built voltage re gu-
lator a nd on-board light indicator, which must work as follows:
-when the contact is on, the light is on;
-when the engine start s, the light goes out;
-if t he l ight is on again as t he engine is runni ng, then i t i ndicates a charging dysfunc-
tion.

To check:
-if the electric connections are done prope rly;
-if the light of the board indicator is working properly (when the circuit is set to the

B.The light turns on when the engine is running
This indicates a charging fa ult, the cause of which may be: - the carrying belt of t he alternator i s broken, the charging conductor i s cut (+ con-
tinuous); - a fault with the alternator (rotor, stator, diodes or brushes);
- a fault with the voltage regulator;
- a voltage surge (overvoltage).
C. The customer / user claims a fault with the charging, as the
on-board light works correctly.
If the re gulated voltage is less than 13.5 V, the alternator is checked. The cause of the defect may be:
- a burnt diode;
- disconnected or cut live wire;
- the coal powder or the wear of the collector.
C
ONTROL OF VO LTAG E
A voltmeter is connected across the terminals of the battery and the voltage value is
read.
The engine is run until the needle of the voltmeter settles at the regulated voltage. This value should be within 13.5 and 14.8 V.
The maximum of consumer devices are connected: the voltage should remain between 13.5 and 14.5 V.
CAUTION!
In case electric arc welding i s being done on t he car, the battery and t he voltage
regulator will be compulsorily disconnected (t he alternator).

Multi-poi nt sequential injection. It commands an injector at a time, in turns.
S tatic ignition with double ignition coil.
Canister-dra ining valve controlled in a cyclical relation to the opening.
Correction of idle mode system in keeping with: -air-conditioning (AC);
-battery vol tage.
On -board injection light indicator;
Maximal load / regimen:
-6200 rot/min for gears: I, II, and III;

The water - temperature sensor
This sensor (no.1) sends the inform ation concerning t he water t emperature to t he c alcu-
lator, and ot her i nformation is sent t o the on-board indicator, which will di splay water
temperature . In case of emergency regarding water t emperature , the calculator will command the
lighting of the water-tempera ture alert indicator on the board. In keeping with the water-temperature information received by the calculator, it will
command:
-the injection system;
-the relays for the command of the motor-ve ntilator e ngine cooling group.
When setting the contact on, the water tempera ture indicator, placed on the instrument
panel, shall be lighted for 3 seconds then it shall turn off.

So, after setting the contact off, during next 2 minutes from engine stopping, the water
temperature reaches the value of 102 C and the injection computer is then control ling the
cooling blower starting at low speed. When the tempera ture is lowering at 96 C, the blower will be stopped ; its operation

JECTION-DISRUPTION LIGHT INDICATOR
THE SYSTEM PARTICULARITIES ( ANTI-STARTING INDICATOR )
On setting the contact, the injection calculator receives from UCE DECODING DE-
VI CE a c ode, which is then compared with t he one previously memorized; i f the two
codes are the same, then the start ing of the engine is authorized. After t he setting of t he c ontact, t he anti-start light indicator, which until then was fl ash-
ing on and off, will turn on for 3 seconds, and then it will turn off, thus confirming the
recognition of the key. If the key is wrong, after it has been put in the contact the light will turn on and off
quicker, and the engine starting will be impossible.

THE ANTI-START FUNCTION

EPLACING UCE INJE CT IO N CAL CUL ATOR
The UCE injection
calculator is delivered without a code, but it is able to memorize a code.
When mounting a new c alculator, it will have to memorize the code anti-start fuction
singularity of this car, then one has to check if the a nti-start function is operational. In
order to do that, the following operations must be done: -the contact is set for a fe w seconds, then it is taken out;
-after t aking out the key, the anti-start function is actived.

NSPE CT ING THE ANT I - ST ART FUNCT IO N
Take the key out of the contact and after 10 seconds the anti-start light indicator on the
board must begin to flash on and off. When setting the contact on, the anti-start ing indicator must turn off.
THE INFLUENCE OF THE AIR-CONDITIONINGON THE INJECTION SYSTEM
The air-conditioning installation ( AC) uses a variable cylinder-volume compressor.
There are the following connections between the air-co nditioning and the petrol injection system:
-pin no. 46 of t he injection calculator re ceives the i nformation “ solicit accelera ted
idle mode” when the button for t he air-conditioning i nstallation is pre ssed and the pres-
su re of the freon in the installation is above a limit.
-the i nformation “ absorbed power” does not infl uence the idle m ode re gime, but lets
the calculator know about the value of the couple taken by the compressor, and the calcu-
lator will opera te the step-by-step engine, through pins nos. 12, 41, 42 and 72, in order to
compensate for the couple fall. With the tester it can read in t he m enu : « Parameters l ist «
the power absorbed by the compre ssor, wich will be between 300 and 5000 W. The value
that is re ad will be of m inimum 300 W, irre spective of the coupled / uncoupled state of the
compressor.
-pin no. 10 of the injection calculator will command the E relay located in the fuse-
box of the engine compartment, which will couple the compressor.
The injection calculator c an prohibit the coupling of the AC compre ssor:
-it does not allow the coupling of the compresso r before 10 seconds after the starting of the engine;
-accordi ng to the couple re quired from t he e ngine by the driver - a nd in cert ain
s ituations according to the power absorbed by t he c ompressor - the calculator c an forbid or
authorize the starting of the compressor;
-if the water temperature is higher than, or equal to 11 5
oC, the therm ic prot ection is oper-
ated, which will not authori ze the start ing of the compre ssor; -the overload protection doe s not permit t he coupling of t he compressor when the
revolution ratio of the engine is over 5900 rot/min.
