Final gear oil
Make sure the final gear oil is at the specified level.
Add oil as necessary. (See pages 8-43 ~ 8-47 for
details.)
If desired, an SAE 80W90 hypoid gear oil may be
used for all conditions.NOTE:GL-4 is a quality and additive rating, GL-5 or GL-6
rated hypoid gear oils may also be used.
Recommended oil:
SAE 80 API GL-4 Hypoid gear oil

‘1. Final gear oil drain bolt

10. Start the engine and warm it up for several
minutes. While warming up, check for oil
leakage. If oil leakage is found, stop the en-
gine immediately and check for the cause.
11. Install the panels.

Final gear oil
The final gear case must be checked for oil leak-
age before each ride. If any leakage is found, have
a Yamaha dealer check and repair the ATV.
Final gear oil replacement
1. Place the machine on a level place.
2. Place a container under the final gear case to
collect the used oil.
3. Remove the oil filler bolt and the drain bolt to
drain the oil.

4. Install the drain bolt and tighten it to the spec-
ified torque.
5. Fill the final gear case with oil.CAUTION:_ Be sure no foreign material enters the final
gear case. _6. Install the filler bolt and tighten to the speci-
fied torque. Tightening torque:
Drain bolt (final gear case):
23 Nm (2.3 m·kgf)
