Moving Off With the engine running, to move
off from position P:
It is essential to press the
brake pedal to exit position P,
Select the function R, D or M,
then gradually release thepressure on the brake pedal;
the vehicle will move off
immediately.
You can also move off fromposition N:
Release the handbrake, withyour foot on the brake.
Select function R, D or M,
then gradually release thepressure on the brake pedal;
the vehicle will move off
immediately.
When the engine is idlingwith the brakes notapplied, if function R, D
or Mis selected, the vehi-
cle moves without the acceleratorbeing pressed. For this reason, do not
leave children unsuper- vised inside the vehicle,with the engine running .

AUTOMATIC GEARBOX 'PORSCHE TIPTRONIC SYSTEM'
The four-speed
automaticgearbox offers a choice between the comfort
of automatic integral regulation enhanced by a sportand snow pro-
gramme , or the pleasure of manual gear changing .
Gear selection gate Move the lever in the gate to select one of the functions.
Once the function is selected, the indicator light for that function is displayed on the instrument panel screen.
S:sport programme.
:snow programme.
P ark :to immobilise the vehicle or to start the
engine , with the handbrake on or off.
R everse :to reverse (select this function with the
vehicle stationary and the engine at idle). N eutral :to start the engine or to park, with the
handbrake on.Note: if position Nis engaged by mistake while
the car is moving, allow the engine to return to idling speed before engaging function Dto
accelerate. D rive :for automatic gear changing.
M anual :for manual gear changing.
To change the four gearsmanually:
Push the lever to the +symbol to change up a gear and pull the lever
towards the Ðsymbol to change down a gear.
Note: the S(sport) and
(snow) programmes do not operate when in
manual mode.

"SPORT" indicator light This comes on when the
"SPORT"programme on
the automatic gearbox is selected. "SNOW" indicator light This comes on when the "SNOW"programme on
the automatic gearbox is selected.
Operating fault This is displayed when an operating fault occurs, accompanied by the message "Automatic gear
fault" on the multi-function display, an audible signal
and flashing of the Sport and Snow indicator lightson the instrument panel.

PTY function This allows you to listen to stations broadcasting a specific type of programme (news, culture, sport, rock etc.). With FMselected, press the "TA" button for more than two seconds to switch this function on or off.
To search for a PTYprogramme:
Ð select the PTYfunction,
Ð briefly press button Jor Lto scroll down the list of the various types of programmes offered.
Ð when the programme of your choice is displayed, keep button Jor Lpressed for more than
two seconds to carry out an automatic search (after an automatic search the PTYfunction is
switched off).
In PTY mode the different types of programmes can be stored in memory. To do this, press the preselection buttons "1" to "6"
for more than two seconds. Briefly press the corresponding button to recall the type of programme stored in the memory.
EON system
This connects stations which are part of the same network. It enables the broadcasting of traffic information or a PTYpro-
gramme by a station that is part of the same network as the station to which you are listening. This service is available when you have selected the TAtraffic information programme or the PTYfunction.
