Starting a petrol engine
Do not press the accelerator.
Operate the starter, without
releasing the key, until theengine turns.

Turn the key to the ''Running''
position. If the engine is warm enough, the pre-heat light does not come on
and you can start immediately. If the pre-heat light comes on, wait for it to go out before
operating the starter. If the engine stalls, it is necessary to return the key to the ''STOP''
position before restarting. FRONT AIR BAGS

Disarming the passenger air bag* Insert the ignition key in the switch 1
and turn it to:
Ð the ''ON'' position, the passen-
ger air bag is armed,
Ð the ''OFF'' position, the pas-
senger air bag is disarmed.
With the ignition on (2nd notch),illumination of this warning light,accompanied by an audible
signal and the message"Passenger air bag deactivated"
on the multifunction display, indi-cates that the passenger air bagis disarmed (switch in the "OFF"
position).
The warning light remains onthroughout the disarming process.

Never travel with the head
restraints removed.
Modifiable passenger seat Access to the storage com- partment:
Ð Push the seat as far back as possible,
Ð Raise then pull the front of the seat to unlock it, then tilt the modifiable seat.

Load space cover
To install the load space cover:
Ð position (1)one end of the roller in one of the two supports,
Ð compress (2)the opposite end of the roller and put it in place,
Ð release it (3)so that it engages,
Ð unroll (4)the cover to the boot pillars,
Ð insert the cover guides in the rails on the pillars.
To remove the cover:
Ð remove the cover guides from the rails on the pillars,
Ð put the cover back in its roller, compress it and remove it from its support.
Rear seats
Ð Lift the front of the seat
1,
Ð Tilt the seat 1against the front seats,
Ð Position the seat belt under the belt holder 2,
Ð
Pull control 3to unlock the seat back 4,
Ð Remove or lower the head restraint,
Ð Tilt the seat back 4.
When refitting, take care not to trap the seat belts.

LOCKING/UNLOCKING THE TAILGATE AND THE REAR SCREEN (206 SW)
It is not possible to open the tailgate and the rear screen simultaneously.
With the rear screen closed, to open thetailgate, operate the handle A
and lift the tailgate. With the tailgate closed, to open the rear screen , press and hold the
unlocking button on the remote con-trol or operate the handle B, then lift
the rear screen using the windscreenwiper arm (location C).
The lighting is activated on open-ing the tailgate or the rear screen. Note: Close the rear screen using the
windscreen wiper arm or by pressing at the centre of the glass.
