12. A/T Does Not Perform Lock-upECS004VD
SYMPTOM:
A/T does not perform lock-up at the specified speed.
1.CHECK SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS
Does self-diagnosis show damage to torque converter clutch sole-
noid valve circuit after cruise test?

Yes >> Check torque converter clutch solenoid valve circuit.
Refer toAT-421, "
TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH
SOLENOID VALVE"(Except for Euro-OBD)/AT-181,
"DTC P0740 TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLE-
NOID VALVE"(Euro-OBD).
No >> GOTO2
2.CHECK THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR*
*: This sensor means accelerator pedal position (APP) senror.
Check throttle position sensor. Refer to "EC-´´", “DTC P0121
ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION(APP)SENSOR”. —Except for
Euro-OBD/Refer to "EC-´´", “DTC P0121 ACCELERATOR PEDAL

Check again.

OK >>INSPECTION END
NG >> 1. Perform TCM input/output signal inspection.
2. If NG, recheck TCM pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
13. A/T Does Not Hold Lock-up ConditionECS004VE
SYMPTOM:
A/T does not hold lock-up condition for more than 30 seconds.
1.CHECK DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS
Does self-diagnosis show damage to engine speed signal circuit
after cruise test?

Yes >> Check engine speed signal circuit. Refer toAT-432,
"ENGINE SPEED SIGNAL"(Except for Euro-OBD/AT-
147, "DTC P0725 ENGINE SPEED SIGNAL"(Euro-
OBD).
No >> GOTO2
2.CHECKA/TFLUIDCONDITION
1. Remove oil pan.
2. Check A/T fluid condition.

OK >> GOTO3

REPAIR FOR COMPONENT PARTS
ASSEMBLY
1. Install upper, inter and lower body.
a. Place oil circuit of upper body face up. Install steel balls in their
proper positions.
b. Install upper separating gasket, upper inter separating gasket
and upper separating plate in order shown in illustration.
c. Install reamer boltsffrom bottom of upper body. Using reamer
bolts as guides, install separating plate and gaskets as a set.
d. Install pilot filter.
