RECOMMENDED FUEL:
For 2.4L/3.3L engine
Use unleaded regular gasoline with an octane
rating of at least 87 AKI (Anti-Knock Index) num-
ber (Research octane number 91) .
For 3.3L supercharger
Use unleaded premium gasoline with an octane
rating of at least 91 AKI number (Research oc-
tane number 96) .
If unleaded premium gasoline is not available,
unleaded regular gasoline with an octane rating
of at least 87 AKI (Research octane number 91)
can be used, but only under the following precau-
tions:
chave the fuel tank filled only partially with un-
leaded regular gasoline, and fill up with un-
leaded premium as soon as possible.
cavoid full throttle driving and abrupt accelera-
tion
However, for maximum vehicle perfo-
mance, the use of unleaded premium gaso-
line is recommended.
CAUTION
cUsing a fuel other than that specified
could adversely affect the emission
control system, and may also affect the
warranty coverage.
cUnder no circumstances should a
leaded gasoline be used, because this
will damage the three-way catalyst.

BREAK-IN PROCEDURE:
During the first 1,200 miles (2,000 km) of vehicle
use, follow the recommendations outlined in the
“BREAK-IN SCHEDULE” information found in
the “Starting and driving” section of this manual.
