Third seat
Lean forward and pull the lock release lever. Then lean
back to the desired angle and release the lever.
CAUTION
To reduce the risk of sliding under the lap belt during a
collision, avoid reclining the seatback any more than
needed. The seat belts provide maximum protection
when the passengers are sitting up straight and well
back in the seats. If you are reclined, the lap belt may
slide past your hips and apply restraint forces directly
to the abdomen. In the event of a frontal collision, the
more the seat is reclined, the greater the risk of personal
injury.
Folding up second seat (for third seat entry)
Vehicles with third seat: For easy access to the third seat,
fold up the second seat in accordance with the following
procedure.
Before folding up the second seat, stow the second seat
buckles as shown above.
This prevents the buckles from falling out when you fold up the

Car audio system operating hints
NOTICE
To ensure correct audio system operations:
Be careful not to spill beverages over the audio
system.
Do not put anything other than a cassette tape or
compact disc into the cassette tape slot or compact
disc slot.
The use of a cellular phone inside or near the vehicle
may cause a noise from the speakers of the audio
system which you are listening to. However, this
does not indicate a malfunction.
Radio reception
Usually, a problem with radio reception does not mean there is
a problem with your radio − it is just the normal result of
conditions outside the vehicle.
For example, nearby buildings and terrain can interfere with
FM reception. Power lines or telephone wires can interfere
with AM signals. And of course, radio signals have a limited
range. The farther you are from a station, the weaker its signal
will be. In addition, reception conditions change constantly as
your vehicle moves.
Here are some common reception problems that probably do
not indicate a problem with your radio:
