To raise or lower the front part of the seat cushion, turn the front knob for- ward or rearward. To raise or lower therear part of the seat cushion, turn the rear knob forward or rearward. B130A01A-AAT REAR SEAT ENTRY (For 3-door model) The front passenger seatback should be tilted to enter the rear seat. By pulling up on the recliner controllever (1) at the outside of the front passenger seat, the seatback will tilt forward and the seat will automaticallyslide forward. Rear seat occupants can tilt the front passenger seatback by depressing thefoot lever (2) as shown in the illustra- tion. WARNING:
Passengers sitting in the rear seatshould be careful not to acciden- tally press the foot lever (2) whilethe vehicle is moving, as this may cause the seatback to move for- ward and injure a front seat occu-pant.

To fasten your seat belt, pull it out of the retractor and insert the metal tabinto the buckle. There will be an au- dible "click" when the tab locks into the buckle.The seat belt automatically adjusts to the proper length only after the lap belt is adjusted manually so that it fitssnugly around your hips. If you lean forward in a slow, easy motion, the belt will extend and let you move around. Ifthere is a sudden stop or impact, how- ever, the belt will lock into position. It

You can adjust the height of the shoul- der belt anchor to one of the 4 posi- tions.If the height of the adjusting seat belt is too near your neck, you will not be getting the most effective protection.The shoulder portion should be adjusted so that it lies across your chest and midway over your shouldernearest the door and not your neck. To adjust the height of the seat belt anchor, lower or raise the height ad-juster into an appropriate position. To raise the height adjuster, pull it up. To lower it, push it down while pressingthe height adjuster button. Release the button to lock the anchorinto position. Try sliding the release button to make sure that it has locked into the position.
WARNING:
o The height adjuster must be in the locked position when thevehicle is moving.
o The misadjustment of height of
the shoulder belt could reduce the effectiveness of the seat belt in a crash.

The front seat rake adjustment is per- formed by raising the lever at the front of the seat base and sliding the seat tothe desired position. At this position the lever should be released and the seat rocked to and fro to ensure that themechanism has locked.
WARNING:
Front seat adjustments must not beundertaken whilst the vehicle is in motion. Loss of control of the ve- hicle may result if seat adjustmentsare made whilst the vehicle is in motion. SB070C1-E Front Seat Recline Adjustment
WARNING:
1) Be careful that someone's head, hands and body are not trapped by a closing window.
2) Never try to operate the main switch on the driver's door andthe individual door window switchin opposing directions at the same time. If this is done, the window will stop and cannot be opened orclosed.
3) Do not leave children alone in the
car. Always remove the ignitionkey for their safety.
The front seat back recline angle maybe adjusted by leaning forward slightlyand raising the recline adjustment lever at the side of the seat. When the seatback is at the desired angle, thelever should be released. Ensure that the seatback is locked before driving the vehicle.

For maximum effectivenessin the event of an accident, the restraint must be adjusted so that the restraint is approximately at the level of the seatoccupant's ears. The restraint must never be so adjusted that it is centred about the level of the seat occupant'sneck. WARNING:
Do not operate the vehicle with the restraints removed. The restraints provide protection against neck in-jury when installed and correctly adjusted. Some models are fitted with adjustabledriver seat lumbar support which may be used to increase the amount oflumbar support offered by the seat back. Adjustment is performed by moving the handle at the side of the backrest in aforward direction to increase the sup- port.

The seat belts are fastened by pulling the belt buckle towards the seat belt stalk and inserting the metal tongue of the buckle into the stalk. The buckleshould be firmly pressed into the stalk until locked which will be indicated by an audible "click".The length of the seat belt webbing will be automatically adjusted by the seat belt mechanism to allow the wearermaximum freedom of movement whilst the belt is being worn. However, in the event of rapid deceleration or impact,the belt mechanism will automatically lock.
