The shoulder portion shouldbe adjusted so that it lies across your chest andmidway over your shoulder nearest the door andnot your neck.To adjust the height of the seat belt anchor, loweror raise the height adjuster into an appropriateposition. To raise the height adjuster, pull it up. Tolower it, push it down while pressing the heightadjuster button.Release the button to lock the anchor into posi-tion. Try sliding the height adjuster to make surethat it has locked into the position.

To fasten your seat belt, pull it out of the retractor and insert the metal tab into the buckle. There willbe an audible "click" when the tab locks into thebuckle.The seat belt automatically adjusts to the properlength only after the lap belt is adjusted manuallyso that it fits snugly around your hips. If you leanforward in a slow, easy motion, the belt will extend and let you move around. If there is asudden stop or impact, however, the belt will lockinto position. It will also lock if you try to leanforward too quickly. Check to make sure that thebelt is properly locked and that the belt is nottwisted. B200A01S-GAT Adjusting Your Seat Belt You should place the belt as low as possible on your hips, not on your waist. If the belt is locatedtoo high on your body, you could slide under it incase of accident or a sudden stop. This couldresult of death, serious injury or property dam-age. Both arms should not be under or over thebelt. Rather, one should be over and the otherunder, as shown in the illustration.Never wear the seat belt under the arm nearestthe door.

SB070B2-E Front seat rake adjustment The front seat rake adjustment is performed by raising the lever at the front of the seat base andsliding the seat to the desired position. At thisposition the lever should be released and theseat rocked to and fro to ensure that the mecha-nism has locked.

Adjustment is performed by mov-ing the handle at the side of the backrest in aforward direction to increase the support.

SB070D2-E Head restraint adjustment To raise the head restraint, pull it up. To lower it, push it down whilst pressing the lock knob. Formaximum effectiveness in the event of an acci-dent, the restraint must be adjusted so that therestraint is approximately at the level of the seatoccupant's ears. The restraint must never be soadjusted that it is centred about the level of theseat occupant's neck. WARNING: Do not operate the vehicle with the restraintsremoved. The restraints provide protectionagainst neck injury when installed and cor-rectly adjusted.

SB090H1-E CARE OF SEAT BELTSSeat belt assemblies must never be disassembled or modified in any way. In addition, care shouldbe exercised to ensure that the belt assembliesdo not become damaged by being trapped in seatmechanisms, door shuts etc. SB090I-E Periodic Inspection It is recommended that all seat belts be inspected periodically for wear or damage of any kind.Parts of the system that are damaged should bereplaced as soon as possible. Under no circum-stances must any part of the seat belt assem-blies be dismantled or repaired. SB090J1-E Keep Belts Clean and Dry Seat belts should be kept clean and dry. If belts become dirty, they can be cleaned using a mildsoap solution and warm water. Bleach, dye,strong detergents or abrasives should not beused since the fabric may become damaged andweakened.
SB090K1-E Replacement of Seat BeltsThe entire seat belt assembly or assemblies should be replaced if the vehicle has been in-volved in an accident even if no damage isevident. o Fluid leakage. The vehicle must not be driven if the daily oper- ating checks indicate that any item of equipmentrelated to the safety or roadworthiness of thevehicle is not functioning correctly. SG030A1-E ENGINE OILThe correct engine oil level is of paramount importance. An excessively high or low oil levelmay result in irreparable damage being sus-tained by the engine. The engine oil level must bechecked on a daily basis or whenever the vehicleis refuelled, whichever occurs sooner.In addition, it is imperative that only an approvedgrade and specification of oil is used to avoid thepossibility of serious engine damage and prema-ture wear. The use of "budget price" oil is a falseeconomy that must be avoided if the maximumreliability and useful life is to be obtained from thevehicle.
SG030B02GK-E Recommended Oil A multi grade oil having a specification which meets A.P.I. specification of SH, SG or above isrecommended. The oil viscosity should be se-lected according to the operating environment ofthe engine by means of the table shown below.The engine oil recommendations are complete inthemselves and the use of additives is neitherrequired nor recommended. The use of engineoil additives may result in invalidation of thevehicle warranty.

SG070A1-E AIR CLEANER ELEMENT REPLACE- MENT
Prior to installing a sparking plug, the gap be- tween the centre and outer electrodes must bechecked and adjusted as necessary.Adjustment is facilitated by bending the outerelectrode towards or away from the centre elec-trode. Under no circumstances should attemptsbe made to adjust the position of the centreelectrode.
4. Insert the sparking plug into the cylinder head and using a suitable plug socket, slowly ratate the sparking plug, until the plug contacts theseating area. Tighten the plug with the plugsocket by a further 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn only. 5. Replace the plug lead ensuring that the cap is
pushed firmly into place. Confirm that the capis correctly seated by lightly pulling upon it.
Recommended Spark Plugs To replace the air cleaner element, remove theair intake ducting from the air flow sensor bodyand unfasten the spring clips holding the air flowsensor top to the body. Lift out the air flow sensorfollowed by the air cleaner element. Replace-ment of the element is the reverse of the above. CAUTION:
o The air flow sensor is a precision engi-
neered electronic measuring device andtherefore care should be exercised that theair flow sensor is not damaged duringreplacement of the element.
o When removing the air cleaner element, be careful that dust or dirt does not enter theair intake. These may result in damage tothe air cleaner element.
NOTE: When replacing the spark plugs, genuine Hyundai replacement parts are recom-mended.
