WARNING
Child Restraints
Aston Martin has not tested any child restraint systems for this vehicle, and does
not recommend any specific child restraint system.
The following table is supplied under EC Directive 77/541.

booster cushions. These manufacturers can supply you with advice on the safety
of their particular child restraints, the position that they recommend, and also

Do not seat a child aged 12 or younger, or weighing 36 kg or less in the car without
an appropriate child seat or booster cushion. Please confirm that any child seat
or booster cushion you may fit in the vehicle has been designed for use in this
model, and that it conforms to local market requirements.

Door or Boot Open (Red)
Indicates that any door and/or the boot is open.
Gearshift Warning (Touchtronic transmission only) (Amber)
Indicates that a concern is detected in the gearshift electronic
control system. Consult your Dealer if this light illuminates.
ABS Warning Lamp (Amber)
Indicates a concern in the ABS control circuits. Consult your
Dealer immediately if this light remains illuminated.
Low Fuel Warning Lamp (Amber)
Illuminates when the fuel level drops to approximately 20 litres
(4.4
imp gallons / 5.0 US gallons).
Check Engine (Amber)
Indicates that an anomaly is detected in the engine management
system. The vehicle may go into 'Limp Home' mode with the
possibility of reduced engine performance.
If the lamp is on constantly, complete your journey and consult
your dealer at the earliest opportunity.
If the lamp flashes, a misfire is occurring which could damage
the catalytic convertor. Stop as soon as possible in a safe
location and have your car recovered to an Aston Martin
dealership.
Low Screen Wash (Amber)
Illuminates to warn you when the level of fluid in the screen
wash reservoir is low.

B - Controls

SRS (Supplementary Restraint System) (Amber)
Flashes if a fault is detected in the airbag system.
When you start the car, this lamp comes on for a few seconds
as a readiness indicator. If it does not come on when you start
the car, or if it does not go off after a few seconds, or if it comes
on whilst driving, the airbag system has detected a fault. Consult
your Dealer immediately if this light illuminates.
Frost Warning Lamp (Amber)
This lamp will illuminate if the external temperature falls to
+4°C. At or below this temperature there is an increased risk of
frost on the road surface.
Traction Control Warning (Green)
Traction control is normally on. This lamp illuminates if the
system is switched off. The lamp flashes when traction control
is active. See the traction control description in this section.
Sport (Auto transmission only) (Green)
Indicates that Sport Mode is selected, increasing the engine
speeds at which the automatic transmission changes gear.
Left Turn Direction Indicator (Green)
Flashes with the indicator lights during operation of the left turn
signal or hazard warning lights.
Right Turn Direction Indicator (Green)
Flashes with the indicator lights during operation of the right turn
signal or the hazard warning lights.

B - Controls
1-B-11 External Temperature Display - Press the trip button briefly to display the
external temperature. Whilst the external temperature is displayed, press
and hold the button to change between °C and °F readouts. Briefly press the
button again to return to the trip display.
Gearshift Indicator (centre top)
Indicates the current gearshift mode on DB AR1 fitted
with 'Touchtronic' transmission. 'A' indicates Automatic
mode. A number 1-5 indicates the current gear selected
when in Touchtronic mode.
Speedometer (centre right)
Indicates the vehicle speed in miles per hour and/or kilometres per hour.
Also houses the odometer recording the total distance travelled by the
vehicle.
Oil Pressure Gauge (top right)
The oil pressure gauge is graduated in bar (1 bar 14.7 psi). Normal oil
pressure at medium engine revs should be in the range 3-6 bar.
Engine Coolant Temperture Gauge (bottom right)
In temperate climates, normal coolant temperature is indicated with the
needle to the left of the 'N' position, but coolant temperature will vary
(within the range 92 - 105°C) dependent on ambient temperature and
driving conditions.

D - Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning
1-D-6Defrost (A/C Off)
In defrost mode, the system is automatically switched
to high fan speed and maximum heat with no air
conditioning. The hot air is directed to the screen and
door vents only. The door vents may be closed to
direct maximum air flow to the screen.
Right Panel (A/C Mode Switch)
The right panel contains the mode switch and temperature differential
controls.
The mode switch settings are:
Economy (A/C off)
Manual Control
Auto Control
Demist
Recirculation
ECON (Economy)
In the ECON position, the air conditioning compressor is switched off.
Incoming air can be heated if required and the fan speed can be adjusted
to increase or decrease the airflow in the vehicle. This mode puts minimum
load on the engine and gives the best fuel economy with no air conditioning
(no cooling or dehumidifying of incoming air).

D - Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning
1-D-8DEM (Demist)
When this mode is selected heated air is directed to
the windscreen vents for demisting as well as to the
face level, footwell and door vents. Air speed and
temperature depend upon the fan speed, in-car
temperature selected and engine temperature.
Recirculation
In Recirculation mode, all external air inlets are
closed and conditions within the vehicle are
maintained by drawing air from within the cabin and
heating or cooling it as required before returning it
to the passenger compartment.
Recirculation mode avoids drawing noxious fumes
into the vehicle from outside. This mode is not
recommended for continuous use since no fresh air
is drawn into the vehicle and drowsiness may occur.
The car interior may be rapidly cooled in recirculation
mode by selecting Recirculation, Minimum
Temperature and Fan Speed 3.

E - Security Systems

PATs Status
The PATs system state is shown by the red status
LED in the centre console.
The status LED will illuminate for three seconds
when the ignition is turned on and will extinguish
when a valid code is received from the ignition
key.
When the ignition is turned off, the status LED
will flash. This is the normal state when the
vehicle is parked with the ignition off and the
key removed.
If the status LED remains on when the ignition is switched on, the system is
in fail-safe mode. This means that the car will start, but PATs has a fault.
After one minute, the status lamp will flash a fault code. Your Aston Martin
Dealer can use this code to aid diagnosis of the PATs problem.
If the status LED continues flashing when the ignition is turned on, the
vehicle remains immobilised due to a fault in the system or an invalid key
code. Should this situation arise, try the spare key. If successful, source a
replacement for the faulty key. If problems persist with both keys, consult
your Aston Martin dealer.
During normal operation, the only indication that PATs is present is the PATS
status LED. The system is designed to be completely transparent to the
vehicle user.
