ELECTRIC WINDOWS
1 - Driver's electric window switch.
2 - Passenger's electric windowswitch.

5 - Disarming of the rear electric window switches (child lock). You have two options: Manual operation:
press or pull switch 1gently. The
window stops as soon as the switch is released.
Automatic operation: press or pull switch 1fully. This

Safety auto-reverse When the window rises and meets an obstacle, it stops and lowersagain. Notes:
- in the case of frost, if the window will not rise, press the switch until it
opens completely, then pull it againuntil it closes.
- following reconnection of the batte- ry, if the window will not rise, relea-se the switch and pull it again until
it closes completely. Hold the swit-ch for approximately one secondafter closing.

As a result, objects observed inthe driver's and passenger's mir-rors are in reality closer than they
appear. This must be taken into account to correctly judge the distance ofvehicles approaching frombehind. SUN VISOR WITH
ILLUMINATED COURTESYMIRROR With the ignition on, the mirror is automatically illuminated when theflap is opened. WINDOWS FOR TOLL CARDS /
CAR PARK TICKETS The athermic windscreen has two non-reflective zones located either
side of the base of the interior mirror.
They are intended for affixing toll cards and/or car park tickets.

ADJUSTING THE HEADLAMPS Depending on the load in your vehicle, adjusting the beam of theheadlamps is recommended as fol-lows. 0 1 or 2 people in the front seats.
- 3 people.
1 5 or 7 people.
2 5 or 7 people + maximum authori- sed load.
3 Driver + maximum authorisedload.
Initial setting is position 0. HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS Press the button, the direction indi- cators flash. They can operate with the ignition
off. Automatic lighting of hazard warning lights*
When braking in an emergency, depending on the force of decelera-tion, the hazard warning lights come
on automatically. They switch offautomatically the first time you acce-lerate.
It is also possible to switch them off by pressing the button.

TRACTION CONTROL (ASR)
AND DYNAMIC STABILITY
CONTROL (ESP) These systems are linked and com-
plement the ABS system.
The ASR system optimises drive to prevent the wheels skidding, byacting on the brakes of the drivewheels and on the engine. It alsoallows the directional stability of thevehicle to be improved on accelera-tion. If there is a variation between the tra- jectory followed by the vehicle and
that required by the driver, the ESPsystem automatically acts on theengine and the brake of one or morewheels, in order to put the vehicleback on course.
Operation of the ASR and
ESP systemsWhen one of these two sys- tems is operating, this lightflashes. Disarming the ESP / ASR systems* In certain conditions (vehicle stuck in
mud or snow, or on loose ground...),it could prove useful to disarm theASR system to make the wheels spinand regain grip.
Press the switch "ESP OFF",
situated on the central part of the fascia.
The switch lights up and theindicator light comes on; the
ESP and ASR systems nolonger act on the brake andengine operation.
They engage again: automatically above 30 km/h,
manually by pressing the switch again.

When a malfunction of thesystem occurs, the switchlight flashes and the indica-tor light comes on, accom-panied by an audible signal
and the message "ESP/ASR not
operational" on the multifunction
display.

The ESP system offers increased safety duringnormal driving, but shouldnot incite the driver totake risks or to drive at
high speed. The operation of the system is ensured to the extent to which therecommendations of the manufac-turer regarding the wheels (tyresand wheel rims), the braking com-ponents, the electronic compo-nents and the assembly and repairprocedures within the PEUGEOTnetwork are observed. After an impact, have the system
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.

CRUISE CONTROL Cruise control enables the vehicle to maintain a steady speed program-
med by the driver, regardless of theroad characteristics and without thedriver having to touch the acceleratoror brake pedals. In order for it to be memorised, the vehicle speed must be greater thanapproximately 40 km/h.Operation
Place switch 1in the ONposition.
A speed can be memorised. Place switch 1in the OFFposi-
tion to cancel.
Memorising a speed As soon as you reach the chosen speed, press button 2or 3.
This memorises the speed, which will
be maintained automatically. Note: It is possible to accelerate
momentarily without disarming the cruise control. Cancelling the memorised speed If you wish to cancel the memorised speed: Press button 4or the brake or
clutch pedal. Recalling the memorised speed After cancellation, press button
4.
Your vehicle will return to the last memorised speed. Changing a memorised speed
To memorise a speed higher than the previous one: press button 3;
release it when you have rea- ched the required speed.
To memorise a speed lower than theprevious one: press button 2;
release it when you have rea- ched the required speed.
Cancelling the cruise control place switch 1in the OFFposi-
tion or switch off the ignition.

Do not use cruise control on slippery roads or inheavy traffic.

CHECKING THE LEVELS Oil level Check the level regularly and top
up between changes. The maxi-mum consumption is 0.5 l per 1000 km. Check the level with the vehicle level, engine cold, using the oillevel gauge on the instrumentpanel or the dipstick.
Dipstick
There are two marks onthe dipstick : A= maximum
Never fill past this mark.B = minimum
To maintain the reliability of engines and emissioncontrol systems, the useof additives in engine oilis prohibited.
Oil change According to the information given in
"PEUGEOT SERVICING" .
WARNING: avoid used oil from
coming into prolonged contact withthe skin.Viscosity selection In all cases, the oil selected must meet the manufacturer's require-ments. Brake fluid level:
- The level must always be between the DANGER and MAXIMUM
marks in the reservoir.
- If the level drops substantially, contact a PEUGEOT dealer imme-
diately.
Fluid change:
- must be carried out according to the manufacturer's servicing sche- dule,
- use fluids approved by the manu- facturer, which fulfil DOT4 stan-dards.
WARNING: brake and clutch fluid is
harmful to health and very corrosive.
Avoid all contact with the skin. Cooling system Use the fluid approved by the manu-
facturer. When the engine is warm, the tem- perature of the coolant is controlled
by the engine fan. As this fan canoperate with the ignition key remo-ved and because the cooling systemis pressurised, wait for at least onehour after the engine has stoppedbefore carrying out any work. Slacken the cap to the first notch torelease the pressure to prevent anyrisk of scalding. When the pressurehas dropped, remove the cap andtop up the level. Note :
the coolant does not need to
be changed. Used oil Do not dispose of used oil, brake fluid or coolant into drains or into theground. Power steering reservoir Open the reservoir, with the engi-
ne at ambient temperature. Thelevel should always be above theMIN. mark and close to the MAX.mark.
Windscreen and headlampwash reservoirs For best quality cleaning and for your
safety, we recommend that you useproducts approved by PEUGEOT(reservoir capacity 3.5 litres or 6.5litres with headlamp wash).
