AUTOMATIC GEARBOX "PORSCHE TIPTRONIC SYSTEM" The four speed automatic gearbox offers a choice between the comfort of
automatic integral regulation enhanced by a sport andsnow programme,
or the pleasure of manual gear changing .
Gear selection gate ➜ Move the lever in the gate to select one of the functions. Once the function is selected, the indicator light for that function illumi-
nates on the instrument panel display.
S: sport programme.

P ark: for parking or for starting the engine ,
with the handbrake on or off.
R everse: to reverse; select this function with the
vehicle stationary and the engine at idle. N eutral: for starting the engine or forparking ,
with the handbrake on.Note: if function Nis engaged by mistake while the
car is moving, allow the engine to return to idling speed before engaging function Dto accelerate.
D rive: for automatic gear changing.
M anual: for manualgear changing.
To change the four gearsmanually:
➜ Push the lever to the +symbol to change up to the next gear and pull
the lever towards the - symbol to change down to the next gear.
Note: the Ssport and
snow programmes do not operate in manual
mode. Moving Off With the engine running, to move
off from position
P:
➜ It is essential to press the
brake pedal to exit position P,
➜ Select the required function(R ,D or M) then gradually
release the pressure on thebrake pedal; the vehicle will
move off immediately.
You can also move off from posi-tion N:
➜ Release the handbrake, withyour foot on the brake.
➜ Select the required function(R , D or M) then gradually
release the pressure on thebrake pedal; the vehicle will
move off immediately.
When the engine is idling with the brakes notapplied, if function R, D
or Mis selected, the
vehicle moves without the acce-lerator being pressed.
For this reason, do not
leave children unsuper- vised inside the vehi-cle, with the engine run-ning.

Manual operation
If you wish, you can make a different
choice from that offered by the sys-
tem by changing a setting. The otherfunctions will still be controlled auto-
matically. Pressing the "AUTO" but-ton returns the system to completelyautomatic operation.
4. Air conditioningPressing this button
switches off the air conditio-
ning. The symbol "ECO" is
displayed. Automatic ope-
ration of the air conditioning is resu-med when the button is pressed
again. The symbol "A/C" is dis-played. Note: It is quite normal that the condensa- tion created by the air conditioningresults in a flow of water under the
vehicle when it is stationary. 5. Air distribution
Pressing this button severaltimes in successionenables the air flow to bedirected in turn towards:
Ð the windscreen (demisting or de- icing),
Ð the windscreen and the footwells,
Ð the footwells,
Ð the centre and side vents and the footwells,
Ð the centre and side vents.
6. Air flow
The flow of air can be increased or reducedby pressing buttons +
or Ð respectively.
7. Air intake Pressing this buttonenables the interior air tobe recirculated. Recircula-
tion, shown on the display,
enables the passenger compartmentto be insulated from exterior odoursand smoke.
Avoid prolonged recirculation of
interior air. To do this, press the but-ton again to resume intake of outside
air. 8. Switching the system off
The "OFF" button enablesthe entire system to be swit-
ched off.
9. Demisting the rear screen Pressing this buttondemists the rear screen andthe mirrors*. Demisting
switches off automatically. It is possible to stop opera-
tion of the demisting before it is swit-
ched off automatically by pressingthe button again. Note: the condensation created by
the air conditioning causes a flow of water under the vehicle when statio-nary which is perfectly normal.

FRONT SEATS
1. Forwards-backwards adjustmentLift the control and slide the seat forwards or backwards.
2. Access to rear seats (3 door) Pull the handle to fold the seatback and move the seat for-wards. On repositioning, the seat returns to its initial position.
Warning: no person or object
must prevent the seat from retur- ning to its initial position; a returnto this position is necessary forthe seat to lock in place.
3. Seat back angle adjustment Push the handle towards the rear.
4. Driver's* or passenger's* seat height adjustment* Pull the handle upwardsor push it downwards as many times asnecessary to obtain the requiredposition.

These operate with the side lightsand the dipped beam lamps. Front and rear foglamps (2nd rotation ofthe ring forwards).
These operate with the side lightsand the dipped/main beam head-lamps. Note: to switch off the rear fog lamp
and the front fog lamps, turn the ring backwards twice in succession. Direction indicators (flashers)
Left : downwards.
Right : upwards.

In good or rainy weather, both day and night, therear fog lamp is dazzlingand is prohibited.
Do not forget to switch the foglamp off when it is no longer needed.

Operation In position 1or 2, when the vehicle
stops, the windscreen wiper changes to a lower wiping speed, thenresumes its initial speed when thevehicle starts again. When the ignition has been swit- ched off for more than a minute
with the control in the AUTO posi-tion*, it is necesary to reactivatethis function.
To do this, move the control to any position, then move it back to the
AUTO* position.
Screenwash/headlamp wash* Pull the windscreen wiper stalk towards you. The windscreen wash then the wind- screen wipers operate simultaneous-ly for two seconds, only if the dip-
ped beam or main beam head-lamps are on.

Switching off the function is accom- panied by an audible signal. In the event of malfunction, the driver is informed by an audible signal andthe message "Automatic wind-
screen wipers faulty" on the multi-
function display. In the event of malfunction in the
AUTO position, the windscreen
wiper will operate intermittent mode.
