A warning light which remains per- manently lit indicates that the unit con-
cerned is not operating correctly. Donot ignore this warning: contact a
PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.
Coolant temperature gauge
- needle in zone A, the temperature
is correct.
- needle in zone B, the temperature
is too high.
The STOP warning light comes on.
You must stop.

Handbrake, low brake fluid level and electronicbrake force distributionwarning light
Indicates either:
Ð that the handbrake is on or has not been released correctly,
Ð an excessive drop in the brake fluid level (if the light remains lit even with the handbrake released),
Ð a malfunction of the braking system, if lit at the same time as the ABSwarning light.
Stop immediately.

STOP warning light
(Together with the oil pressure warning light).

- oil pressure is too low,

battery charging circuit,
- loose battery or starter terminals,
- a broken or loose alternator drive belt
- an alternator fault,

before topping up.The cooling circuit is pressurised.When opening to top up, turn the cap to the first notch to let the pressuredrop.

indicates faulty operation of the injec-tion, ignition or emission controlsystem. There is a risk of damage to the cat- alytic converter if your vehicle is fitted with one.

Low fuel warning light Indicates that there are approximately 1.3 gallons(6 litres) of fuel remainingin the fuel tank.
(The capacity of the tank is approxi-mately 60 litres).

Fuel filler flap
To open*:
firmly pull the handle on
the floor to the outside of the driverÕs seat.
To close: from outside, push the flap
back and check that it is secured
correctly.
* According to specification. Filling with fuel Switch off the engine. There is a holder for the fuel filler cap.
A label on the inside of the flap shows which fuels are permitted and whichare not allowed. The capacity of the tank is approx- imately 13 gallons (60 litres). Use the ignition key to open and close the fuel filler cap independently ofopening the doors.

Power steering reservoir
Open the reservoir, with the engine cold, at outside temperature, the levelshould always be above the MINImark, close to the MAXI mark.
Windscreen and headlamp wash reservoir* For best quality cleaning and for your
safety, we recommend that you useproducts approved by PEUGEOT(capacity 4,4 litres or 6 litres withheadlight wash). Battery
At the start of winter, have your battery checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer. Air filter Regular replacement of the filter element is essential. If you drive invery dusty conditions, change it twiceas often. Brake pads Brake pad wear depends on the style of driving, in particular for vehicleswhich are used in town or for shortjourneys or which are driven in a
sporty manner, it may be necessaryto check the thickness of the padseven between services. Manual gearbox This does not need an oil change. Check the level according to the
manufacturerÕs service schedule. Autoadaptive automatic gearbox This does not need an oil change: have the level checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer according to the
manufacturerÕs service schedule.
