The indicator light illuminates amber when the ignition switch is placed atthe "ON" position. The engine can bestarted after the pre-heat indicator lightgoes off. The illuminating time varieswith the water temperature, air tem- perature and battery condition. NOTE: If the engine were not started 10 seconds after the preheating is com-pleted, turn the ignition key oncemore to the "LOCK" position, andthen to the "ON" position, in order to preheat again.

ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM(EPS) WARNING LIGHT(Not all models)
This indicator light comes on about 4 seconds after the ignition key is turnedto the "ON" position or after the engineis started, it will go out. This light also comes on when the EPS has some troubles. If it comes on whiledriving, have your vehicle inspected byan authorized Hyundai Dealer.

The seat belt warning light blinks for about 6 seconds when the ignition keyis turned from the "OFF" position to"ON" or "START".

This indicator light comes on for some seconds after the ignition key is turnedto the "ON" position. At this time, you can start the engine. The light goes out after the engine is running. In case thislight goes out before you start the en-gine, you must turn to the "LOCK"position and restart the engine. In casethis light blinks for five seconds when the ignition key is turned to "ON" posi- tion, this indicates that the immobilizersystem is out of order. At this time,consult to the Hyundai dealer.

SB210S1-E BRAKE PAD WEAR INDICATOR The front brake disc pads are fitted with an audible wear indicator which willcause a high pitched noise to be emit-ted when the remaining amount of fric-tion lining is below the specified value. When the wear indicator is heard, the brake pads should be replaced withoutdelay to avoid damage occurring to thebrake discs and a severe reduction inbraking efficiency.
B900A01A-EAT ACOUSTIC WARNING SOUND (Not all models) The acoustic warning chime sounds when the tail lights are on and the doorin driver side is open. o Calculation Method SB220A1-E MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH Turn Signal Operation To signal an intention to turn right, the switch lever should be pressed down. To signal an intention to turn left, theswitch lever should be pushed upwards.In both instances, the turn signal lightson one side of the car will flash and thewarning light located in the instrument cluster will flash in sympathy. Upon completion of the manoeuvre, the leverwill, under normal circumstances, re-turn to the "Off" position. However, ifthe manoeuvre involved only a small movement of the steering wheel, the signal may need to be cancelled manu-ally. If either turn signal indicator flashesmore rapidly than normal or refuses toflash at all, a malfunction of the turnsignal system may exist. SB220B1-E Lane Change Signal To indicate an intention to change lanes, moving the lever slightly towards thedirection of the relevant turn signal will cause the turn signal lights to flash. SB370A1-E INTERIOR REAR VIEW MIRROR The interior mirror is of the day/night type to enable the glare of headlightsfrom following vehicles to be eliminatedduring night time driving.The tab located at the bottom of the mirror should be set to the position nearest the windscreen for normal daytime driving, and flipped towards therear of the vehicle to eliminate glareduring night time driving. To adjust thefield of vision, the mirror may be moved by hand upon the mounting. NOTE: The mirror should always be ad- justed prior to setting the vehicle inmotion. The outside rearview mirror heater automaticallyturns itself off after 20 minutes. The parking brake must always be set when the vehicle is to be left unat-tended. When the parking brake is ap- plied, and the ignition key is at the "ON" position, the parking brake warning lightwill be illuminated. Before driving thevehicle, the parking brake must be fullyreleased and the warning light extin-guished.
o To set the parking brake, apply the
foot brake and pull the parking brake lever up with the button depressed.Release the button when the brake isfully applied.

If necessary, spray aroundthe lid with an approved deicer fluid (do not use radiator anti-freeze) or move the vehicle to a warm placeand allow the ice to melt.

o The tail gate can be locked or un- locked with a key.
o The tail gate is opened by pulling the
outside handle up, raising the tail gate manually.
o To close, lower the tail gate, then press down on it until it is closed. Tobe sure the tail gate is fully closed, always try to pull it up again without using the outside handle.
