To lock the seat belts Pull the strap, then insert the endinto the buckle. Front seat belts with pre-tensioner and force limiter Safety in the event of a frontal impact has been improved by the introduc-tion of seat belts with pre-tensionerand force limiter connected to thefront air bags. Depending on theseriousness of the impact, the pre-tensioning system instantly tightensthe seat belts firmly against the bod-ies of the occupants. The pre-tensioning seat belts are armed when the ignition is on. The force limiter reduces the pres- sure of the seat belt on the body ofthe occupant in the event of an acci-dent. Depending on the nature and seri-ousness of the impact, the pre-tensioners may be triggeredbefore and independently of theair bags. In all cases, the air bag warning light comes on. After an impact, have the system
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer. The system has been designed to be fully operational for ten years.
