Outside rear view mirrorsÐ
Adjust the mirror so that you can see
the side of your vehicle in the mirror.
Be careful when judging the size or dis-
tance of any object seen in the outside
rear view mirror on the passenger 's side.
It is a convex mirror with a curved sur-
face. Any object seen in a convex mirror
will look smaller and farther away than
when seen in a flat mirror.
On some models, when you push the rear
window defogger switch, the heater panels
in the outside rear view mirrors will quick-
ly clear the mirror surface.
CAUTION
Do not adjust the mirror while the
vehicle is moving. It may cause the
driver to mishandle the vehicle and
an accident may occur resulting in
death or serious injuries.
Since the mirror surfaces can get
hot, keep your hands off them when
the defogger switch is on.
To adjust a mirror, use the switches.1. Master switchÐTo select the mirror to be adjusted
Place the switch at ªLº (left) or ªRº
(right).
2. Control switchÐTo move the mirror Push the switch in the desired direc-
tion.
Mirror can be adjusted when key is in the
ªACCº or ªONº position.

To defog or defrost the rear window,
push the switch.
The key must be in the ªONº position.
The thin heater wires on the inside of the
rear window will quickly clear the sur-
faces. An indicator light will illuminate to
indicate the defogger is operating.
On some models, heater panels in the
outside rear view mirrors will also quickly
clear the surfaces.
Push the switch once again to turn the
defogger off.
The system will automatically shut off af-
ter the defogger has operated about 15
minutes.
CAUTION
Since the mirror surfaces can get hot
keep your hands off them when the
defogger switch is on.
Make sure you turn the defoggers off
when the surfaces are clear. Leaving the
defoggers on for a long time could cause
the battery to discharge, especially during
stop±and±go driving. The defoggers are
not designed for drying rain water or for
melting snow.If the outside rear view mirrors are heavi-
ly coated with ice, use a spray de±icer
before operating the switch.
NOTICE
When cleaning the inside of the
rear window, be careful not toscratch or damage the heater wiresor connectors.
Convertible: When the convertibletop is completely lowered, keep therear window defogger turned off to
avoid damage to the convertibletop.

Do not apply waterÐthe best results are
obtained by keeping the carpet as dry as
possible. Read the shampoo instructions
and follow them closely.
Seat belts
The seat belts may be cleaned with
mild soap and water or with
l ukewarm
water.
Use a cloth or sponge. As you are clean-
ing, check the belts for excessive wear,
fraying, or cuts.
NOTICE
Do not use dye or bleach on the
beltsÐit may weaken them.
Do not use the belts until they be-come dry.
Windows
The windows may be cleaned with any
household window cleaner.
NOTICE
When cleaning the inside of the win-
dows, be careful not to scratch ordamage the heater wires on the rearwindow.
Air conditioning control panel, car au-
dio, instrument panel,
console panel,
and switches
Use a soft damp cloth for cleaning.
Soak a clean soft cloth in water or luke-
warm water then lightly
wipe off dirt.
NOTICE
Do not use organic substances (sol-
vents, kerosene, alcohol,
gasoline,
etc.) or alkaline or acidic solutions. These chemicals can cause discol-
oring, staining or peeling of thesurface.
If you use cleaners or polishing
agents, make sure their ingredientsdo not include the substances men-tioned above.
If you use a liquid car freshener, donot spill the liquid onto the ve-
hicle's interior surfaces. It may con-tain the ingredients mentioned
a-
bove. Immediately clean any spill
using the method mentioned above.
Leather Interior
The leather upholstery may be cleaned
with neutral detergent for wool.
Remove dirt using a soft cloth dampened
with 5% solution of neutral detergent for
wool. Then thoroughly wipe off all traces
of detergent with a clean damp cloth.
After cleaning or whenever any part of the
leather gets wet, dry with a soft clean
cloth. Allow the leather to dry in a venti-
lated shaded area.
NOTICE
If a stain should fail to come outwith a neutral detergent, apply acleaner that does not contain anorganic solvent.
Never use organic substances suchas benzine, alcohol or gasoline,
or
alkaline or acid solutions for clean-
ing the leather as thesecould
cause discoloring.
Use of a nylon brush or syntheticfiber cloth, etc. may scratch thefine grained surface of the leather.

Checking and replacing fuses

If the headlights or other electrical
components do not work, check the
fuses. If any of the fuses are blown,
they must be replaced.
See ªFuse locationsº in Section 7±1 for
locations of the fuses.
Turn the ignition switch and inoperative
component off. Pull a suspected fuse
straight out and check it.
Determine which fuse may be causing the
problem. The lid of the fuse box shows
the name of the circuit for each fuse. See
Section 8 of this manual for the functions
controlled by each circuit. Type A fuses can be pulled out by the
pull±out tool. The location of the pull±out
tool is shown in the illustration.
If you are not sure whether the fuse has
blown, try replacing the suspected fuse
with one that you know is good.
If the fuse has blown, push a new fuse
into the clip.
Only install a fuse with the amperage rat-
ing designated on the fuse box lid.
If you do not have a spare fuse, in an
emergency you can pull out the
ªMIRROR±HEATERº, ªDOMEº or ªA/Cº
fuse, which may be dispensable for
normal driving, and use it if its amperage
rating is the same.
If you cannot use one of the same amper-
age, use one that is lower, but as close as
possible to, the rating. If the amperage is
lower than that specified, the fuse might
blow out again but this does not indicate
anything wrong. Be sure to get the correct
fuse as soon as possible and return the
substitute to its original clip.
It is a good idea to purchase a set of
spare fuses and keep them in your ve-
hicle for emergencies.
