FM-AM RADIO WITH COMPACT
DISC (CD) PLAYER
Audio main operation
To turn the radio on, turn the ignition key to
ACC or ON. If you listen to the radio with the
engine not running, turn the key to the ACC
position.
Radio reception is affected by station signal
strength, distance from radio transmitter,
buildings, bridges, mountains and other ex-
ternal influences. Intermittent changes in
reception quality normally are caused by
these external influences.
Using a cellular phone in or near the
vehicle may influence radio reception
quality.
Power/Volume control
Turn the ignition key to ACC or ON, then
push the power/volume control knob. The
mode (radio or CD) which was playing im-
mediately before the system was turned off
resumes playing. When no CD is loaded,
the radio comes on. Pushing the
power/volume control knob again turns the
system off.

Turn the power/volume control knob to the
right to increase volume or to the left to
decrease volume.
Adjusting tone quality and speaker bal-
ance
To adjust Bass, Treble, Fader or Balance,
press the
knob for less than 1.5 sec-
onds. A beep signals entry into the audio
adjustment mode and BASS will appear in
the display. Rotate the
knob to adjust
Bass (BASS) to the desired level.
Press the
knob a second time and
TREB appears in the display. Rotate the
knob to adjust Treble (TREB) to the
desired level.
Press the
knob a third time and FAD
appears in the display. Fader (FAD) adjusts
the sound between the front and rear
speaker. Rotate the
knob to adjust
Fader (FAD) to the desired level.
Press the
knob a fourth time and BAL
appears in the display. Balance (BAL) ad-
justs the sound between the right and left
speakers. Rotate the
knob to adjust
Balance (BAL) to the desired level.
After 10 seconds, the radio or CD displaywill reappear. Once the sound quality is set
to the desired level, press the
knob
repeatedly until the radio or CD display
reappears.

ONzOFF/VOL control knob
Turn the ignition key to ACC or ON, then
push the ONzOFF/VOL control knob button.
The mode (radio, tape or CD) which was
playing immediately before the system was
turned off resumes playing. When no CD or
tape is loaded, the radio comes on. Pushing
the ONzOFF/VOL control knob button again
turns the system off.

Clock operation
Pressing the clock button alternates the
clock and the radio/cassette/CD player op-
tions in the display.
Clock set
Depressing the clock and
buttons to-
gether sets hours. Depressing the clock and
buttons together sets minutes.
Clock priority mode
In this mode the clock is shown in the
display. If any radio, cassette or CD func-
tions are activated, the radio, cassette or
CD display illuminates for 10 seconds then
returns to the clock mode.
NOTE:
After clock adjustment, the radio is in the
clock priority mode.
FM/AM Radio operation
FM/AM band select
Push the
button to change from AM to
FM reception.
The FM stereo indicator, ST, illuminates
during FM stereo reception. When the ste-
reo broadcast signal is weak, the radioautomatically changes from stereo to mon-
aural reception.
TUNE/DISC
WARNING
The radio should not be tuned while
driving so full attention may be given to
vehicle operation.
Use the
andbuttons for manual
tuning. To move quickly through the chan-
nels, hold either of the tuning buttons down.
SEEK/SCAN buttons
SEEK tuning
Push the SEEK/SCAN tuning buttonorfor less than 0.5 seconds. SEEK tuning
begins from high to low frequencies or low to
high frequencies, depending on which but-
ton is pressed, and stops at the next broad-
casting station. Once the highest broadcast-
ing station is reached, the radio continues in
the SEEK mode at the lowest broadcasting
station. If using the
button, once the
lowest broadcasting station is reached, the
radio continues in the SEEK mode at the
highest broadcasting station.
SCAN tuning
Push the SEEK/SCAN tuning buttonorfor more than 0.5 seconds. SCAN illu-
minates in the display, and the radio station
blinks. SCAN tuning begins from low to high
frequencies or high to low frequencies, de-
pending on which button is pressed. SCAN
tuning stops at each broadcasting station for
five seconds. During the SCAN function,
SCAN comes on and the radio station blinks
in the display window. Pushing the button
again during this five second period stops
SCAN tuning and the radio remains tuned to
that station.

4. Press TUNE/FF-REV (or)or
SEEK/TRACK (or) to adjust the
minutes.
5. Press the CLOCK button again to exit the
clock set mode.
The display will return to the regular clock
display after 7 seconds, or you may press
the CLOCK button again to return to the
regular clock display.
FM-AM radio operation
FM-AM band select
Push the AM or the FM button to change
from AM to FM reception.

Push the SCAN button. SCAN illuminates in
the display window. Scan tuning begins
from low to high frequencies or from high to
low frequencies. Scan tuning stops at each
broadcasting station that has sufficient sig-
nal strength for 5 seconds. When scanning,
SCAN blinks in the display. Pushing the
SCAN button again during this 5 second
period stops Scan tuning and the radio
remains tuned to that station.

CHANGING A FLAT TIRE
If you have a flat tire, follow the instructions
below:
Stopping the vehicle
1. Safely move the vehicle off of the road
and away from traffic.
2. Turn on the hazard warning flashers.
3. Park on a level surface and apply the
parking brake. Shift the manual transmis-
sion into R (Reverse), or the automatic
transmission into P (Park).
4. Turn off the engine.
5. Raise the hood to warn other traffic, and
to signal professional road assistance
personnel that you need assistance.
6. Have all passengers get out of the ve-
hicle and stand in a safe place, away
from traffic and clear of the vehicle.
WARNING
cMake sure the parking brake is se-
curely applied and the manual trans-
mission is shifted into R (Reverse),
or the automatic transmission into P
(Park).
cNever change tires when the vehicle
is on a slope, ice or slippery areas.
This is hazardous.
cNever change tires if oncoming traf-
fic is close to your vehicle. Wait for
professional road assistance.
Blocking wheels
Place suitable blocks at both the front and
back of the wheel diagonally opposite the
flat tire to prevent the vehicle from rolling
when it is jacked up.
WARNING
Be sure to block the wheel as the ve-
hicle may move and result in personal
injury.

FRONT TURN SIGNAL LAMP
Replacing the front turn signal lamp
bulb
1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
2. Reach between the grille and radiator to
access the turn signal bulb socket.
3. Rotate the socket counter-clockwise and
pull it out of the headlamp assembly. Do
not shake the bulb socket when remov-
ing it.
4. Pull the bulb out of the socket.
5. Follow the instructions in reverse order to
install new bulb.
FRONT PARKING AND CORNER-
ING LAMP
Replacing the front parking and cor-
nering lamp bulb
1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.2. Remove the four screws from the bottom
of the front fender protector (see above
illustration) and position the fender pro-
tector aside to allow access to the head-
lamp mounting fasteners.3. Remove the three nuts and one bolt
mounting the headlamp assembly (see
above illustration).
4. Pull the headlamp assembly evenly away
from the front of the vehicle to access the
bulb sockets.
5. Rotate the socket counter-clockwise and
pull it out of the headlamp assembly. Do
not shake the bulb socket when remov-
ing it.
6. Pull the bulb out of the socket.
7. Follow the instructions in reverse order to
install new bulb.
