ODOMETER AND TRIP METER
SV13015
This meter displays the odometer and two trip meters. To
change the mode indication, push the ºODO/TRIPº knob
briefly. Each time you push the knob, the mode changes
in order from the odometer to trip meter A to trip meter B,
then back to the odometer, etc.
The odometer records the total distance the vehicle has
been driven. The twin trip meter records two different
distances independently.
For example, you can use one meter to calculate the fuel
economy and the other to measure the distance on each trip.
To set A trip meter to zero, display the A meter reading,
push the knob and hold it. The same applies for the B trip
meter.
The data of trip meters will be cancelled if the electrical power
source is disconnected.

the hand held garage door opener. The signal from the hand
held garage door opener is sent to the vehicle's opener.

4. To program the remaining buttons, repeat steps º1º through
º3º.
If you want to replace an existing program with a new program,
select the button you want to program. Follow the procedure
from step 1.
If the transmitter has a ºrolling code featureº, it is
necessary to program the in±garage receiver after
programming HomeLink
.
1. Locate the ºtrainingº or ºlearningº button on the
in±garage receiver and push and release this button.
Location of the button may vary by the garage door
opener manufacturer.
2. Firmly push and release the trained HomeLink
button 2 times (some garage door manufacturer may
require you to push the HomeLink button up to 3 times)
to complete the process.
The garage door should now operate when the
HomeLink
button is pushed. Do not use the
HomeLink
universal transmitter with any
garage door opener that lacks the safety stop and reverse
feature as required by Federal Safety Standards. This
includes any garage door opener model manufactured before
April 1, 1982.

opener, make sure there is no one around the moving
door. It is dangerous if someone is caught.

AIR CONDITIONING
127
If manual on±off of the air conditioning is desired ±
Push the ºA/Cº button to turn the air conditioning on and push
it again to turn the air conditioning off.
The air conditioning does not work if the outside temperature
is lowered down to around 0C (32F).
If the system is used for ventilation, heating in dry weather or
removing frost or exterior fog on the windshield, turn the air
conditioning off once it is no longer required. This will improve
fuel economy. The air conditioning can be used for year±round
automatic temperature control including cooling and
dehumidifying operation.
If the air conditioning compressor does not operate, the
indicator of the ºA/Cº button will blink. If the indicator of the
ºA/Cº button blinks even when the ºA/Cº button is pushed
again, have the compressor checked by your nearest Lexus
dealer.

3. Take out the air filter.
If it is dirty, it should be replaced. To maintain the air
conditioning efficiency, replace the air filter according to the
maintenance schedule. (For scheduled maintenance
information, please refer to the ºOwner's Manual Supplement
/ Maintenance Scheduleº.)
NOTICE
Do not drive with the air filter removed, or the efficiency
of air conditioning may be lost.
(d) Operating tips
To help cool down the interior after parking in the hot sun,
drive for the first few minutes with the windows open. After
the excess heat has blown away, close the windows.
Make sure the air inlet grilles in front of the windshield are
not blocked by leaves or other obstructions.
If air flow control is not satisfactory, check the dashboard
vents. (See ºCenter ventsº and ºSide ventsº.)
On humid days, do not blow cold air on the windshield. The
windshield could fog up because of the difference in air
temperature on the inside and outside of the windshield.
Keep the area under the front seats clear to allow air to
circulate throughout the vehicle.
On cold days, push the fan speed selector to adjust the fan
speed high for a minute to help clear the intake ducts of
snow or moisture. This can reduce the amount of fogging
on the windows.
When driving on dusty roads, close all windows. If dust
thrown up by the vehicle is still drawn into the vehicle after
closing the windows, it is recommended that the air intake
control button be left to the OUTSIDE AIR mode and the fan
speed control dial be turned to anywhere except the ºOFFº
button.
If following another vehicle on a dusty road, or driving in
windy and dusty conditions, it is recommended that the air
intake control button be temporarily pressed in to the
RECIRCULATED AIR mode, which will close off the outside
passage and prevent outside air and dust from entering the
vehicle interior.

In the ºTAPEº or ºCDº mode, the applicable functions are
shown in the lowest part of the display. Push the switch
just below to turn on each function.
(b) Tone and balance
How good an audio program sounds to you is largely
determined by the mix of the treble, mid±range, and bass
levels. In fact, different kinds of music and vocal programs
usually sound better with different mixes of treble, mid±range,
and bass.
A good balance of the left and right stereo channels and of the
front and rear sound levels is also important.
Keep in mind that if you are listening to a stereo recording or
broadcast, changing the right/left balance will increase the
volume of one group of sounds while decreasing the volume
of another.
SV22005
Each time you push the ºAUDIO CONTROLº knob, the
display changes as in the following. To adjust the tone
and balance, turn the knob.
BAS: Adjusts low±pitched tones.
MID: Adjusts mid±pitched tones.
TRE: Adjusts high±pitched tones.
