Fader and balance control
The volume c ontrol d ial 7 normally func tion as volume c ontrol. The
d ial b ec ome the c ontrols for Fad er or Balanc e when you selec t the
ap p rop riate fad er and b alanc e c ontrol mod e.
Choose d esired setting for eac h mod e b y turning the volume c ontrol
d ial. The c ontrol func tion returns to volume c ontro l mod e after ab out 5
sec ond s.
To change control modes: Eac h b rief p ress of the “FAD/BAL ” b utton
6 c hang es c ontrol mod es in the following seq uenc e st arting from
fad er c ontrol mod e. (When the rad io is turned on, t he c ontrol mod e is
in the volume c ontrol.)

nDisplay illumination dimness cancellation
The b rig htness of the rad io d isp lay d ims when the l ig ht switc h is in the
“ p ” or “w ” p ositions. If this makes the d isp lay d iffic ult to read ,
p ress the volume d ial for more than two sec ond s to return the d isp lay
to orig inal b rig htness. FM/AM selection button (FM/AM)
Push the “FM/AM ” b utton
1 when the rad io is off to turn on the rad io.
Push the “FM/AM ” b utton when the rad io is on to selec t FM1, FM2 or
AM rec ep tion. Eac h time this b utton is p ressed , the b and will c hang e
in the following ord er:
FM1 FM2 AM
The d isp lay ind ic ates whic h one is c urrently selec t ed .

hills. Selecting preset stations
Presetting a station with a p reset b utton 5 allows you to selec t that
station in a sing le op eration. Up to six AM, FM1, F M2 and WB stations
eac h may b e p reset. How to preset stations
1. Press the “FM/AM ” selec tion b utton to selec t AM, FM1 or FM2 re-
c ep tion.
OR
Press the “WB ” b utton
3 to selec t the weather b and .
2. Press the “SCAN ” b utton 2 or tune the rad io manually until the d e-
sired station freq uenc y is d isp layed .
3. Press one of the p reset b uttons 5 for at least 1.5 seconds to store
the freq uenc y. The freq uenc y of the station will fl ash onc e on the d is-
p lay at this time. If the b utton is p ressed for les s than 1.5 sec ond s, the
p rec ed ing selec tion will remain in memory. NOTE If the connection between the radio and battery is broken for any
reason such as vehicle maintenance or radio removal, all stationsstored in the preset buttons are cleared. If this occurs, it is neces-sary to reset the preset buttons.

allows the op p osite sid e of the tap e to p lay, p rovi d ing c ontinuous
p layb ac k. Fast-forward button (FF)
To fast-forward the tap e, p ress the “FF ” b utton
T. The d isp lay will
show “FF ”. To stop fast-forward ing , p ress the “FF ” or “TAPE ” 9 b utton.
Rewind button (REW)
To rewind the tap e, p ress the “REW ” b utton Y. The d isp lay will ind i-
c ate “REW ”. To stop rewind ing , p ress the “REW ” or “TAPE ” 9 b utton.
Eject button (

tap e is ejec ted .
The ejec tion func tion also op erates when the ig niti on switc h is in the
“ LOCK ” p osition. Always make c ertain that you remove the c assette
tap e. Tape program sensor button (TPS)
n Blank skip
When the “TPS ” b utton
E is p ressed , the “TPS ” ind ic ator will c ome on
and the p layer will automatic ally skip any b lank p o rtion of 15 sec ond
or more and p lay the next p rog ram, even if it is on the other sid e. To
c anc el b lank skip mod e, p ress the “TPS ” b utton ag ain.

Press the “RPT ” b utton D while a song is p laying to p lay the song
rep eated ly. The “RPT ” ind ic ator will c ome on and the song will b e
p layed c ontinuously. To c anc el the rep eat mod e, p re ss the b utton
ag ain. Then the “RPT ” ind ic ator g oes out, and normal p layb ac k mod e
is restored . Random playback
Press the “RAND ” b utton
S while a d isc is b eing p layed b ac k to p lay
all song s on the d isc in a rand om ord er. The “RAND ” ind ic ator will
c ome on and all song s on the d isc will b e p layed in a rand om ord er.
To c anc el the rand om mod e, p ress the b utton ag ain. Then the
“ RAND ” ind ic ator g oes out, and normal p layb ac k mod e is re stored .
Scan
When the “SCAN ” b utton
O is p ressed while the d isc is b eing p layed
b ac k, you c an hear the first 10 sec ond s of eac h tra c k to seac h for the
d esired p rog ram. To c ontinue listening to the p rog r am, p ress the
“ SCAN ” b utton ag ain. After all trac ks on the d isc have b e en sc anned ,
normal p layb ac k mod e is restored . To eject a disc from the player

The d isc may b e removed even when the ig nition swit c h is in the

NOTE
Avoid driving the vehicle with a CD sticking out, because vibra- tion might make it fall out.

NOTE
If a disc is in the player, the “CD” button is used to change
from CD player operation to CD changer operation. Each time the
“CD” button is pressed, the operating mode will change alter-
nately. At the end of the disc, the player automatically continues with
the next disc. After playback on the last disc finishes, playback will automat-
ically return to the first disc. If you have loaded fewer than 6 discs, any missing disc is
