–All lamps off
–Position, tail, licence–plate, and
instrument panel lamps on
–Headlamps on and other lamps
remain on
Lamp monitor systemIf the driver’s door is opened when the key is
in the “LOCK” or “ACC” position or removed
from the ignition switch with the lamp switch
in the “
” or “” position, a buzzer will
sound to remind the driver to turn off the
lamps.
Turn off the lamp switch, and the buzzer will
stop.
[Vehicles with Daytime Running Lamp]When the ignition key is in the “ON” position
and the lamp switch is set to the “
” posi-
tion, the low beam of the headlamps, tail
lamps, etc., will illuminate.
NOTE
(1) Do not leave the headlamps and other
lamps on for too long time while the en-
gine is stationary. A run–down battery
could result.
(2) When it rains, or when the vehicle has
been washed, the inside of the lens
sometimes becomes foggy. This is the
same phenomenon as when window
glass mists up on a humid day, and
does not indicate a functional problem.
When the lamp is switched on, the heat
will remove the fog. However, if water
gathers inside the lamp, please go to an
authorized MITSUBISHI dealer for a
check.

Dipper (High/Low beam change)EE11B–Dd
When the lamp switch is in the “” posi-
tion, the beam changes from high to low (or
low to high) each time the lever is pulled to
(1). While the high beam is on, the high
beam indication lamp in the instrument
cluster will also illuminate.
Headlamp flasherEE11C-Fc
The high beams flash when the lever is
pulled slightly to (2), and will go off when it is
released.
When the high beam is on, the high beam in-
dication lamp in the instrument cluster will
also illuminate.
NOTE
The high beams can also flash when the
lamp switch is OFF.

are for indication the selector lever position
and one of them will be illuminated when the
ignition is switched “ON”.

Vehicles with Sports mode
CAUTION
If the “N” (NEUTRAL) indicator lamp
in the selector lever position indicator
flashes while you are driving, there
could be a malfunction in the auto-
matic transmission. (If the selected
lever position is in the “P” (PARK),
“R” (REVERSE) or “N” (NEUTRAL)
position, the indicator lamp does not
flash.) Identify and rectify the problem
in accordance with the following pro-
cedure.
CAUTION
[The “N” indicator lamp flashes rapid-
ly (twice per second)]
The automatic transmission fluid is
overheating.
Park your vehicle in a safe place but
do not turn off the engine. Move the
selector lever to the “P” (PARK) posi-
tion and open the bonnet. Keep the
engine idling.
After a while, move the selector to the
“D” position and confirm that the “N”
indicator lamp stops flashing. It is safe
to continue driving if the “N” indicator
lamp no longer flashes.
Be sure to carry out this check with
the selector lever in the all forward
position except for “P” (PARK), “R”
(REVERSE) or “N” (NEUTRAL). The
“N” indicator lamp warning function
operates only in these positions.
If the “N” indicator lamp continues
flashing or flashes intermittently,
have your vehicle inspected by an
authorized MITSUBISHI dealer.

CAUTION
(1) Before selecting a gear with the
engine running and the vehicle
stationary, fully depress the
brake pedal to prevent the vehicle
from creeping.
The vehicle will begin to move as
soon as the gear is engaged, es-
pecially when the engine speed is
high, at fast idle or with the air
conditioning operating, the
brakes should only be released
when you are ready to drive away.
(2) Depress the brake pedal with the
right foot at all times.
Using the left foot could cause
driver movement delay in case of
an emergency.
(3) To prevent sudden acceleration,
never race the engine when shift-
ing from the “P” (PARK) or “N”
(NEUTRAL).
CAUTION
(4) Operating the accelerator pedal
while the other foot is resting on
the brake pedal will affect braking
efficiency and may cause pre-
maturewear of brake pads.
Do not race the engine with brake
pedal pressed.
This can damage the trans-
mission.

2-Blower speed selection dial
There are 4 blower speeds for control
of the amount of air flow.
Adjust the blower speed by turning the
blower speed selection dial clockwise
or anticlockwise. The setting for ordi-
nary use should be the first or second
speed.
3-Temperature control dial
The heater will not operate if the dial is
set all the way to the left.
The air flow temperature will gradually
increase as the dial is turned to the
right.
NOTE
When the engine coolant temperature is
low, temperature of air introduced into the
passenger compartment does not change
even if the temperature control dial is
moved to the high temperature side.
