Seats and Seat Controls
This part tells you about the seats -- how to adjust them,
and also about memory seats, reclining seatbacks and
head restraints.
Power Seats

Raise or lower the front of the seat cushion by
holding the front part of the horizontal control up
or down.

Raise or lower the rear of the seat cushion by
holding the rear part of the horizontal control up
or down.

Raise or lower the entire seat cushion by holding the
whole horizontal control up or down.

Move the seat forward or backward by pushing the
horizontal control to the front or back.

Push the vertical control forward to bring the seat to
a more upright position. Push it rearward to recline
the seatback.

Raise or lower the shoulder belt height adjuster by
pushing the vertical control up or down.

1-3 4-Way Power Lumbar Control (Option)
If you have this option, the
driver's and passenger's
seatback lumbar support
can be adjusted four ways
by moving the single switch
located on the side of
the seat.
To increase or decrease support, hold the switch forward
or rearward. To move the lumbar up or down, hold the
switch upward or downward.
Memory Seat and Mirrors (If Equipped)
If your vehicle has this
feature, the controls on the
driver's door panel are used
to program and recall
previous settings.
You can use this function to save your seat cushion
positions (including the shoulder belt height adjuster),
lumbar, mirror adjustment, personal choice settings,
comfort controls and radio settings. Activate the
MEMORY button (1 or 2) which corresponds to the
appropriate DRIVER # identified by your remote
keyless entry transmitter. For more information,
see ªDriver Information Center, Personal Choice
Programmingº in the Index.

To save your seat and mirror positions into memory,
use the following procedure:
1. You must first turn on the SEAT RECALL feature on
the Driver Information Center (DIC). See ªPersonal
Choice Features, Memory Seat Recallº in the Index
for instructions.
2. Synchronize the transmitter with the appropriate
MEMORY button.
This can be accomplished by pressing the button
with the unlock symbol on the transmitter with the
ignition in RUN. The DRIVER # will be displayed
on the DIC.
3. Adjust the driver's seat and lumbar position (if
equipped) to a safe and comfortable driving position.
Adjust both outside mirrors to suit you. See ªOutside
Mirrorsº in the Index.
4. Press and hold the MEMORY button (1 or 2)
corresponding with your DRIVER # displayed on the
DIC for longer than three seconds. You will hear two
beeps confirming that the seat and mirror positions
have been entered into memory.To set the seat and mirror positions for a second driver,
follow the previous steps, but start by pressing the
button with the unlock symbol on the transmitter that
displays the other DRIVER # on the DIC. Be sure to use
the MEMORY button (1 or 2) which corresponds to the
DRIVER # identified by the second transmitter.
To store the exit position for an easy exit, use the
following procedure:
1. Adjust the driver's seat to the desired exit position.
2. Press and hold the EXIT button for longer than three
seconds. You will here two beeps confirming that the
seat exit position has been entered into memory.
To recall your memory positions, your vehicle must be
in PARK (P). Push and release the MEMORY button
(1 or 2) or the appropriate keyless entry transmitter
corresponding to the desired driving position. The seat
and mirrors will move to the position previously stored
for the identified driver. You will hear one beep.
To recall the exit position, your vehicle must be in
PARK (P). Push and release the EXIT button and the
seat will move to the exit position previously stored for
the current identified driver. You will hear one beep.
If an exit position has not been stored for the current
identified driver, the seat will move all the way back.

Instant Alarm
When the button with the horn symbol on the remote
keyless entry transmitter is pressed, the horn will sound
and the headlamps and taillamps will flash for up to
30 seconds. This can be turned off by pressing the
instant alarm button again or by turning the ignition on.
With the content theft
-deterrent feature, you may also
turn off the instant alarm by unlocking the vehicle with
a key.
Personal Choice Features (If Equipped)
Each remote keyless entry transmitter can be
programmed to the driver's preference for memory door
locks, security feedback, delayed locking, memory seat,
perimeter lighting, parallel park assist mirror and
window lockout. See each feature in the Index.
You can also personalize your comfort control
temperature, mode and fan settings. See ªComfort
Controls, Personal Choiceº in the Index.
If your vehicle is equipped with the Driver Information
Center (DIC), you can also program these features
through the DIC. See ªDriver Information Centerº
in the Index.Security Feedback
This provides feedback to the driver when the vehicle
receives a command from the remote keyless entry
transmitter. The following modes may be selected:
Mode 0: No feedback when locking or
unlocking vehicle.
Mode 1: No feedback when locking; exterior lamps
flash when unlocking vehicle.
Mode 2: Exterior lamps flash when locking; no
feedback when unlocking vehicle.
Mode 3: Exterior lamps flash when locking and when
unlocking vehicle.
Mode 4: Exterior lamps flash and horn chirps when
locking; no feedback when unlocking vehicle.
Mode 5: Exterior lamps flash and horn chirps when
locking; exterior lamps flash when unlocking vehicle.

2-52 Power Remote Control Mirror
Your vehicle has an electric mirror control located on
the driver's door armrest.
Move the switch below the control to choose the right or
left mirror. If you place the switch in the center position,
no movement of the mirror will occur. To adjust the
mirror, push the arrow control in the direction you want
the mirror to go.Adjust each mirror so you can see some of the side of
your vehicle and the area behind your vehicle.
If your vehicle is equipped with the optional memory
seat and mirrors feature, these mirror positions, along
with the driver's seat position can be stored in memory.

Parallel Park Assist Mirror (If Equipped)
If you have the optional DIC feature, the passenger's
outside rearview mirror also includes a tilt
-down feature
that operates when the shift lever is in REVERSE (R).
When the vehicle is shifted out of REVERSE (R),
the passenger mirror will return to its original position
after a five
-second delay. This delay prevents movement
of the mirror if multiple gear transitions (reverse to drive
to reverse) occur during a parallel parking maneuver.
This feature can be programmed on or off through the
Personal Choice selection menu. Vehicles are delivered
with this feature off. See ªDriver Information Centerº or
ªPersonal Choice Featuresº in the Index for
programming instructions.

2-89 DIC Personal Choice Programming
The DIC is used to program the personal choices of two
drivers. The drivers are recognized as DRIVER #1 and
DRIVER #2. The DIC will identify a person as
UNKNOWN DRIVER if they are neither DRIVER #1
nor DRIVER #2. You will let the DIC know which
driver you are by using your remote keyless entry
transmitter or by pressing one of the MEMORY buttons
located on the driver's door. Each remote keyless entry
transmitter was pre
-programmed to belong to
DRIVER #1 or DRIVER #2. Each transmitter may
be programmed differently for each driver.
After you press the button with the unlock symbol on
your transmitter and the ignition is in RUN, the DIC will
automatically display the identified driver number. The
vehicle will recall the personal choice settings that were
last made to correspond to your transmitter, including
your radio and comfort control settings. See ªComfort
Controls, Personal Choiceº in the Index.If you unlock the vehicle using your door key instead of
your transmitter, the DIC will not change drivers and
will recall the information from the last transmitter used
or the last driver using one of the MEMORY buttons.
If this happens and you were not the last driver of the
vehicle, simply press your correct driver number on the
appropriate MEMORY button or press the button with
the unlock symbol on your transmitter.

choice features available with your vehicle:

See the following steps for personal choice
programming instructions.
1. Turn the ignition on and keep the transaxle
in PARK (P).
2. Inform the DIC which driver you are by pressing the
button with the unlock symbol on your transmitter or
the appropriate memory seat control.
3. Press and hold the ENG/MET button for five
seconds. WELCOME TO BUICK OPTION
FEATURE will appear in the display.
The next display will be your driver number and the
message ARMREST BUTTON CHANGES
DRIVER #. You are now in the selection mode and
the DIC is ready to program your personal choices
in memory.
Each feature that can be personalized will appear in
the display. Once you have made a selection for a
feature, the DIC will move on to the next personal
choice feature.4. Scroll through the following messages and
feature options:

Memory Seat Recall
This feature recalls the position of your seat. When this
feature is active, the memory seat and mirror positions
will be recalled for the identified driver when the remote
keyless entry transmitter is used to enter the vehicle.
You can program this feature to be active by choosing
ON when the SEAT RECALL choice appears, or
inactive by choosing OFF when the SEAT RECALL
choice appears on the DIC.
You can also program this feature to recall your memory
seat position or the exit seat position.

Memory Position: Choose ON when the SEAT
RECALL choice appears, and then choose
MEMORY when the RECALL POSITION
choice appears.

Exit Position: Choose ON when the SEAT RECALL
choice appears, then choose EXIT when the
RECALL POSITION choice appears and your seat
will move to the stored exit position. The seat will
also move when you enter the vehicle after
unlocking it with a remote keyless entry transmitter.
This will allow for easy entry as well.

The number of passenger windows locked out by the
WINDOW LOCK button can be programmed through
the DIC.
If you choose ALL PASS, all three passenger window
switches will be inactive when the WINDOW LOCK
button is enabled.
If you choose REAR, only the two rear passenger
window switches will be locked out when the
WINDOW LOCK button is enabled.
To change modes:
1. Move the arrow on the display between ALL PASS
and REAR by pressing the ENG/MET button.
2. Once you have made your selection, press the
RESET button. Your choice will be retained
in memory.
