Each door has a lock tab above the
inside door handle. Push the tab in to
lock the door and pull it out to unlock.
To lock the passenger's door when getting out of the car, push the lock
tab in and close the door. To lock thedriver's door, pull the door handle
and push the lock tab in. Release the
handle, then close the door. The doors can also be locked and
unlocked from the outside with the
key.
SE model
When you push in the lock tab on the driver's door, that door and the
hatch will lock.LS, GS, GS-R and Type-R models
When you push in the lock tab on the driver's door, both doors and the

SE model

The driver's door has a hatch lock switch. The switch locks and unlocks
the hatch. Push the switch down to
lock the hatch and up to unlock the

hatch.

The hatch can also be locked from the outside by using the key indriver's door.

LS, GS, GS-R and Type-R models

Each door has a master door and
hatch lock switch. Either switch
locks and unlocks both doors and the
hatch. Push the switch down to lock
both doors and the hatch and up to
unlock them.
To lock the passenger's door when getting out of the car, push the lock
tab in and close the door. To lock the driver's door, pull the outside door
handle and push the lock tab in or
push the master switch down. Release the handle, then close the
door.
Both doors and the hatch can be
locked from the outside by using the
key in either door or the hatch.
To unlock only the driver's door from the outside, insert the key in
the driver's door lock, turn the keyand release it. If you turn the key
and hold it, both doors and the hatch
will unlock. Both doors and the hatch will unlock when you unlock
the passenger's door or the hatch

Use the master key to lock and
unlock the hatch. The valet key does
not work in this lock.
To lock the hatch, insert the master
key in the hatch lock, turn the keycounterclockwise.
To unlock the hatch, turn it

You can lock and unlock the front doors by using the key in the hatch.

To open the hatch, slide the lever behind the hatch's back edge until it
releases the hatch and lift the hatch.
To close the hatch, push down on the hatch's back edge. See page 132 for cargo loading and
weight limit information. Keep the hatch closed at all times while driving to avoid damaging the hatch
and to prevent exhaust gas from
getting into the interior. See Carbo n
Monoxid e Hazar d on page 49.
If an unlocked hatch does not open,
turn the master key clockwise past
the unlock position. Open the hatch as you hold the key in that position.
If you need to use this procedure to open the hatch, your car may be
developing a problem. Have the
vehicle checked by your Acura
dealer.

Open the glove box by pulling the
bottom of the handle. Close it with a
firm push. Lock or unlock the glove
box with the master key.
LS, GS, GS-R and Type-R models

The glove box light comes on only when the instrument panel lights are
on.

serious injury to your passengerin a crash, even if the
passenger is wearing the seat

belt.

Always keep the glove box closed while driving.

Make all seat adjustments before
you start driving.
To adjust the seat forward andbackward, pull up on the lever under
the seat cushion's front edge. Move
the seat to the desired position and
release the lever. Try to move theseat to make sure it is locked in

position.
To change the angle of the seat-back,
pull up on the lever on the outside of
the seat bottom. Move the seat-back
to the desired position and release
the lever. Let the seat-back latch in
the new position.

The back of the rear seat folds down to give you more cargo space. Eachside folds down separately. With only
half the seat folded, you can still carry a passenger in the back seat.
To unlatch either side of the seat- back, pull up on the release tab.Move the seat belt out of the way
and fold the seat-back down. To lock the seat-back upright, push
the seat-back firmly against its latch.
Tug on the seat-back to make sure it
is latched.

Make sure all items in the cargo area
are secured. Loose items can fly
forward and cause injury if you have
to brake hard. See Carrying Cargo
on page 132. Carg

The cargo area cover may be removed to give you more cargo
height. Place your hands, palms up,
under the cover near the outsideedges. Lift it straight up.
To install the cover, line up the mounting rods with the slots, then
push down on the cover until it clips
into place. Make sure it is securely
latched so it will not come loose
while you are driving.

The digital clock displays the time with the ignition switch ON (II). To see the time with the ignition off,
press and hold the wide button next to the clock. To set the clock:
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II) to display the time.
2. Swing down the front cover of the wide button next to the clockdisplay. You will see H, M, and
RESET buttons. 3. Press and hold the H button until
the hour advances to the desired

hour.

4. Press and hold the M button until the numbers advance to thedesired minutes.
You can use the RESET button to quickly set the time to the nearest
hour. If the displayed time is before the half hour, pressing RESET
button sets the clock back to the
previous hour. If the displayed time is after the half hour, pressing the
RESET button sets the clock for-
ward to the beginning of the next
hour.
For example: 1:06 would RESET to 1:00.
1:52 would RESET to 2:00.

The ignition switch must be in
ACCESSORY (I) or ON (II) to operate the audio system. Turn the
system on by pushing the PWR/
VOL knob. Adjust the volume by turning the same knob.
The antenna extends automatically. The system turns off and the anten- na retracts when you turn the igni-
tion switch to LOCK (0).
The band and frequency that the radio was last tuned to is displayed.
To change bands, press the AM/FM 1.2 button. On the FM band, ST will
be displayed if the station is broad- casting in stereo. Stereo reproduc-
tion on AM is not available. You can use any of three methods to
find radio stations on the selectedband: TUNE, SEEK, or the Preset
buttons.
TUNE — Use the TUNE bar to tune
the radio to a desired frequency. Press the side of the bar to tune
to a higher frequency, and the side to tune to a lower
frequency. The frequency numbers
will start to change rapidly. Release the bar when the display reaches thedesired frequency. To change the
frequency in small increments, press and release the TUNE bar quickly. SEEK
— The SEEK function
searches the band for a station with
a strong signal. To activate it, press the SEEK bar on either the or
side, then release it.
Depending on which side you press,
the system scans upward or down-
ward from the current frequency. It stops when it finds a station with a
strong signal.
Prese t — You can store the
frequencies of your favorite radio stations in the six preset buttons.
Each button will store one frequency on the AM band, and two
frequencies on the FM band.
