2. After closing the trunk lid, insert the master key and turn it counterclock-
wise to deactivate the lock release
lever.
After closing the trunk lid, try pulling it up
to make sure it is securely locked. HoodTo open the hood:
1. Pull the hood lock release lever. The hood will spring up slightly.
CAUTION
Before driving, be sure that the hood
is closed and securely locked. Other-
wise, the hood may open unexpected-
ly while driving and an accident may
occur.
2. In front of the vehicle, pull up the auxiliary catch l ever and lift the
hood.

The digital clock indicates the time.
The key must be in the ``ACC'' or ``ON''
position.
To reset the hour: Push the ``H'' button.
To reset the minutes: Push the ``M'' but-
ton.
If the electrical power source has been
disconnected from the clock, the time dis-
play will automatically be set to 1:00 (one
o'clock).
When the instrument panel lights are
turned on, the brightness of the time in-
dication will be reduced.
ThermometerThe thermometer indicates the outside
air temperature when you push the
ºTEMPº selector button.
The key must be in the ºONº position.
Pushing the button once again will turn off
the display.
When the air conditioning system is on,
pushing the button once indicates the out-
side temperature and a second time
changes the display back to the air condi-
tioning temperature.

Installing the coverÐ
Align the hinges to the pivots, and press
each hinge with a thumb until you hear a click.
Make sure that the cover opens and
closes smoothly. Miscellaneous boxTo use the box, open it as shown above.
CAUTION
To reduce the chance of injury in
case of an accident or a sudden stop,
always keep the miscellaneous box
closed while driving.
NOTICE
In hot weather, inside of the vehicle
becomes very hot. Do not leave any-thing flammable or deformable such as a lighter, the glasses, etc. inside.
Auxiliary box (type A)
To use the box, pull on the handle.
CAUTION
To reduce the chance of injury in
case of an accident or a sudden stop,
always keep the auxiliary box closed
while driving.

To use the box, push down the knob
and pull it out completely.
CAUTION
To reduce the chance of injury in
case of an accident or a sudden stop,
always keep the auxiliary box closed
while driving.
Cup holder
Front
Rear (some models only)
The cup holder is designed for holding
cups or drink- cans securely in its
holes.
Front: To use the holder, open the lid.
Rear: To use the holder, pull it out.
CAUTION

Do not place anything else on the
cup holder, as such item may be
thrown about in the compartment
and possibly injure people in the
vehicle during sudden braking or an
accident.
To reduce the chance of injury in
case of an accident or sudden stop
while driving, keep the cup holder
retracted when it is not in use.
