1998 GMC ENVOY seats

A booster seat (F, G) is designed for children who
are about
40 to 60 lbs. (1 8 to 27 kg) and about four
to eight years of age. It’s designed to improve the
fit of the vehicle’s safety belt system. Booster seats
with shields use lap-only belts; however, booster
seats without shields use lap-shoulder belts.
Booster seats can also help a child to see out the window.

A CAULON:
A child in a rear-facing child restraint can be
seriously injured or killed
if the right front
passenger’s air bag inflates, even though your
vehicle has reduced-force frontal air bags. This
is
because the back of the rear-facing child
restraint would be very close to the inflating air
bag. Always secure a rear-facing child restraint
in the rear seat.
You’ll be using the lap-shoulder belt. See the earlier part
about the top strap if the child restraint has one. Be sure
to follow the instructions that came with the child
restraint. Secure
the child in the child restraint when and
as the instructions say.

Because your vehicle has a right front passenger air
bag, always move the seat as far back as it will
go
before securing a forward-facing child restraint. (See
“Seats” in the Index.)
Put the restraint on the seat.
Pick up the latch plate,
and run the lap and shoulder
portions
of the vehicle’s safety belt through or
around the restraint. The child restraint instructions
will show you how.
If the shoulder belt goes in front of the child’s face or
neck, put it behind the child restraint.

To reset the trip computer, press the MODE and
US/MET buttons simultaneously for at least two
seconds.
All functions will be displayed for half a
second once the system
is reset. Reset can only be
performed in the AVG
ECON, FUEL USED and
AVG SPEED modes. All three modes are
reset simultaneously.
Sunglasses Storage Compartment
The console has a sunglasses storage compartment.
Center Floor Console
Your vehicle has a console between the two front
bucket seats.
To open the console, pull up on the console cover.
The console has two cupholders and
a storage tray,
including
a change holder, for the front seat passenger
and driver
to use.

Ventilation Tips
You will find air outlets in the center and on the sides of
your instrument panel.
You can direct the airflow side-to-side by rotating the
thumbwheel located in the center of the vent. The vent
can be tilted up and down also.
To control the amount of
airflow through the outlets, rotate the thumbwheel
below the vent.

Keep the hood and front air inlet free of ice, snow or
any other obstruction (such as leaves). The heater
and defroster will work far better, reducing the
chance
of fogging the inside of your windows.
When
you enter a vehicle in cold weather, move the
fan control to the right
to the highest setting for a
few moments before driving off. This helps clear the
intake ducts
of snow and moisture, and reduces the
chance of fogging the inside of your windows.
Keep the air path under the front seats clear
of
objects. This helps air to circulate throughout
your vehicle.
Defogging and Defrosting
On cool, humid days, use BLEND to keep the
windshield and side windows clear.
Use DEFROST
to remove fog or ice from the
windshield quickly in extreme humid or cold conditions.
Turn the temperature knob to the right and move the fan
control
to the right.
