Car audio operating tips
NOTICE
To prevent the battery from being discharged, do
not leave the car audio on longer than necessary
when the engine is not running.
To ensure the correct audio system operation:
Be careful not to spill beverages over the audio
system.
Do not put anything other than a cassette tape or
CD magazine into the cassette tape slot or CD
changer.
You can listen to the car audio when the ignition key is
at ªONº or ªACC.º However, if the engine is not running,
the key must be in the ªACCº position.
Audio operation is described in detail on the following pages:
Radio operation ± See page 111.
Cassette tape player operation ± See page 115.
Compact disc player operation ± See page 119.
Anti±theft system ± See page 125.

Once the system is set, the indicator light turns on and off
with the ignition switch in ªOFFº and ªSECº will appear each
time the key is turned to the ªACCº position.
To change the identification number for some reason, cancel
the system (See ª(b) Cancelling the anti±theft system.º) and
set it again with a new number.
The system will be activated if the electrical power source is
disconnected from the radio unit. When the system is
activated, the audio system cannot be turned on even after
the power supply resumes and ªSECº will appear on the
display. If this happens, such as when the battery is
discharged, see ª(c) If the anti±theft system is activated.º(b) Cancelling the anti±theft system
1. Follow steps 1 to 4 described in ª(a) Setting the
anti±theft system.º
2. With your identification number appearing on the
display, press the
(SCAN) button and hold it in until
ª±±±º appears on the display. ª±±±º will go off to indicate the
system is cancelled. If invalid buttons have been used, ªErrº
will appear on the display and ªSECº appears. Try again
from step 3 in ª(a) Setting the anti±theft system.º
The number displayed with ªErrº indicates how many errors
you have made. You may make up to nine errors, but no
more!
