The engine oil pressure light
[IS25157( GV)05/96]
This light indicates the engine oil pressure, not
the oil level. However, if your engine's oil level
is low, it could affect the oil pressure. The light
should come on every time your ignition key is
turned to ON or START, and should go out
when the engine starts. If the light stays on or
turns on while the engine is running, you have
lost oil pressure andcontinued operation will
cause severe engine damage.
*
[IS25158( GV)05/96]
If you lose engine oil pressure:
*
[IS25159( GV)04/96]
1. Pull off the road as soon as safely possible.
*
[IS25160( GV)05/96]
2. Shut off the engine immediately. If you do
not stop the engine as soon as safely
possible, severe engine damage could result.
[IS25161( GV)04/96]
3. Check the engine's oil level, following the
instructions on checking and adding engine
oil, seeEngine Oilin the Index. If you do
not follow these instructions, you or others
could be injured. To assure an accurate
reading, your vehicle should be on level
ground.
[IS25162( GV)03/96]
4. If the level is low, add only as much oil as
necessary before you start the engine again.
Do not overfill. Do not operate the engine if
the light is on, regardless of the oil level.
Contact your nearest dealer for service as
soon as possible.

When in AUTOMATIC and weather conditions
require heat, air will be sent to the floor. But, a
feature is included in your EATC to prevent
blowing cold air to the floor if the engine
coolant is not warm enough to allow heating.
For a short time the fan will be at low speed
and air directed to the windshield. In 3-1/2
minutes or less, the fan speed will start to
increase and the airflow will change to the floor
area.
*
[CF10200( GV)12/95]
If unusual conditions exist (i.e., window fogging,
etc.), the six manual override buttons allow you
to select special air discharge locations. A
thumbwheel allows you to adjust the fan speed
to suit your needs.

Temperature selection
*
[CF10400( GV)12/95]
The RED and BLUE buttons at the upper left of
the Control are for temperature selection. The
RED button will increase the set temperature
and the BLUE button will lower the set
temperature. Pressing a button and releasing it
will change the set temperature one degree.
Holding either button in will rapidly change the
temperature setting in one degree increments to
either65ÊF (18ÊC)(BLUE) or85ÊF(29ÊC)(RED).
Then, the set temperature will jump 5Ê and stop
at either60ÊF (16ÊC)which is maximum cooling
or 90ÊF (32ÊC)which is maximum heating.

Your vehicle has an automatic parking brake
release. As you move the gearshift selector to
any forward gear with the engine running, the
parking brake automatically releases. Your
parking brake will not release automatically
when you shift into R (Reverse). To release the
parking brake manually, pull the brake release
handle [marked (P)] located on the lower left
corner of the instrument panel. The pedal is now
released and will reset the next time you press
the pedal. The Brake System Warning Light will
glow if the parking brake is not fully released
when the engine is running.
*
[GF03500( GV)01/96]
RWARNING
To prevent personal injury, do not release
the parking brake while outside the
vehicle.
*
[GF03600( ALL)01/96]
Always check the Brake Warning Light each
time you start your engine. Driving with the
parking brake on will cause the brakes to wear
out quickly and will reduce the fuel economy.
*
[GF03700( ALL)02/96]
RWARNING
If the parking brake is fully released, but
the Brake System light remains on, have
the brakes checked immediately. They
may not be working properly.
[GF03800( ALL)12/95]
The parking brake system is designed for static
parking only and is not designed to stop a
moving vehicle, but you can use the parking
brake to stop your vehicle in an emergency if
the normal brakes fail. However, since the
parking brake applies only the rear brakes, the
stopping distance will increase greatly and the
handling of your vehicle will be adversely
affected.
