Downloaded from www.Manualslib.com manuals search engine Speedometer and Odometer
The speedometer lets you see your speed in both miles
per hour (mph) and kilometers per hour
(km/h). The
odometer shows how far your vehicle has been driven,
in either miles (used in the United States) or kilometers
(used in Canada).
Your Cadillac Brougham has a tamper-resistant
odometer.
If your odometer displays ERROR, someone
has probably tampered with it.
You may wonder what happens if a car has to have a
new odometer installed. The new odometer should be
programmed to the same mileage as the old one.
If it
can’t be, then it is set at zero, but a label on the driver’s
door must show the old reading and when the new one
was installed.
Trip Odometer
You can tell how far you’ve
gone since you last set it
back to zero.
To reset, press
the button.
EnglisWMetric Button
You can change the display
from English to metric by
pressing
this button.

Downloaded from www.Manualslib.com manuals search engine Wheel Replacement
Replace any wheel that is bent, cracked, or badly rusted
or corroded.
If wheel nuts keep coming loose, the wheel,
-wheel bolts and wheel nuts should be replaced.
If the
wheel
leaks air, replace it (except some aluminum
wheels, which can sometimes be repaired). See your
Cadillac dealer if any
of these conditions exist.
Your dealer will know the kind
of wheel you need.
Each new.whee1 should have the same load-carrying
capacity, diameter, width, offset and be mounted the
same way as the one it replaces.
If you need to replace any of your wheels, wheel bolts
or wheel nuts, replace them only with new
GM original
equipment parts. This way, you will be sure to h.ave the
right wheel, wheel bolts and wheel nuts for your
Cadillac model.
Using the wrong replacement w
or wheel nuts on your vehicle can be dangerous.
It could affect the braking and handling of your
vehicle, make your tires lose
air and make you
lose control. You could have
a collision in which
you or others could be injured. Always use the
correct wheel, wheel bolts and wheel nuts for
replacement.
NOTICE:
The wrong wheel can also cause problems with
bearing life, brake cooling, speedometer or
odometer calibration, headlamp aim, bumper
height, vehicle ground clearance and tire or tire
chain clearance to the body and chassis.
See “Changing a Flat Tire” in the Index for more
information.
