The Upper Knob
The upper knob does these five things:
It turns the radio on and off.
It controls the volume.
It lets you see what station you have. (When the radio is on, push the

The Lower Knob

Turn the lower knob to choose radio stations. Push the knob to switch

Behind the lower knob is the Fade control. It fades the sound between

BASS
The slide control increases or decreases the bass response tone. Moving

(+) increases bass while moving toward the (-)
decreases it.
TREBLE
The slide control increases or decreases the treble response tone. Moving
the control toward the
(+) increases treble while moving toward the (-)
decreases it.
SCAN
When you press the SCAN button either up or down, the SCAN indicator
in the display
will light and the radio will find the next station and stay

To Play the Compact Disc Player

NOTICE:
Do not use the mini-discs that are called “singles”. They will not
eject. use full size compact discs only.
Turn the radio on.
Insert the CD (label side up) partway into the slot. The player will pull
it in. Wait a few seconds and the CD will play. Then only the time of
day and CD will display.
If the CD comes back out check to see if
The disc is upside down.
The disc is dirty, scratched, or wet.
There is to much moisture in the air. If there 1s wait about an hour
and try it again.
Err (Error Detection)
This message is displayed if you have a condition of either extreme
temperature, moisture, or an incorrect CD.
The CD will automatically be
ejected. When conditions are back to normal the CD should play again.

volume. for example, classical and jazz music has
very quiet and very loud
- passages in the same tune. The COMP display will light as long as COMP
is on.
~ TAPE and CD Operation
With both a tape and a CD inserted, both the TP and CD indicators in
the display will be lit and either the TP or CD (LED) will also be lit,
- depending on which has the current priority.
TP-CD
Press the lower knob to switch between rape and CD.

Your power antenna will look its best and work well if it’s cleaned from
time to time.
To Clean the Antenna Mast:
1. .Turn on the ignition and radio to raise the antenna to full mast
2. Dampen a clean cloth with mineral spirits or equivalent solvent.
3. Wipe cloth over the mast sections, removing any dirt.
4. Wipe dry with clean cloth before retracting.
5. Make the antenna go up and down by turning the radio or ignition on
extension.

6. Then repeat if necessary.
NOTICE:
Don’t lubricate the power antenna. Lubrication could damage
it.
NOTICE:
Before entering an automatic car wash, turn off your radio to
make the power antenna go down. This
will prevent the mast
from possibly getting damaged.
If the antenna does not go down
when you tum the radio off, it may be damaged or need to be
cleaned. In either case, lower the antenna by hand by carefully
pressing the antenna
down.

sure the vehicles aren’t touching each other.
If they are, it could cause
a ground connection you don’t want. You wouldn’t be able to start
your Cadillac, and. the bad grounding could damage the electrical
systems.
3. Turn off the ignition on both vehicles. Turn off all lights, radio, or any
accessories that are in use on both vehicles. This will avoid sparks and
help save both batteries. And it could avoid damage to any
of the
accessories.
NOTICE:
If you leave your radio on, it could be badly damaged. The
repairs wouldn’t be covered by your warranty.

4. Open the hoods and locate the batteries.
Find the positive
(+) and negative (-) terminals on each battery.

When your vehicle is being towed, have the ignition key off. The steering
wheel should be clamped in
a straight-ahead position, with a clamping
device designed for towing service.
Do not use the vehicle’s steering
column lock for this. The transaxle-should be
in Neutral and the parking
brake released.

from the housing.

Position the windshield wipers on the windshield in the “mid” wipe
position. To do this, turn the ignition key to Accessory and turn the wipers
