type
numbers

be
located
onan
ID
plate
attached
to
the
síde
of

.
Do
not
rely
on
numbers
cast
on
the
transmission
case
for
identification
.
In
addition,
thetransmission
lubricant
varies
between
trans-
missions
and
model
years
.
Fluid
application
information
should
be
clearly
marked
on
a
label
on
thetransmission
.
On
manual
transmissions,
either
ATF
(orange
label
reads
ATF-Oil!)
or
a
special
BMW
lubricant
